Dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin that produces scaling, flaking, thickening, color changes, and often, itching. Many cases of dermatitis is caused by allergies. This type is called allergic or contact dermatitis.
Atopic dermatitis is a hereditary form of the condition that usually becomes apparent in infancy. It typically aears on the face, in the bends of the elbows, and behind the knees.
The following nutrients are prescribed for an adult. Use 1/3 the amount for a child.
Vitamin B complex - 50-100mg 3 x's daily - Needed for healthy skin and proper circulation. Aids in reproduction of all cells.
Vitamin B6 - 50mg 3 x's daily - Deficiency has been linked to skin disorders.
Vitamin B12 - 300mg daily - Aids in cell formation and cellular longevity.

dermatitis can look like a disease as it is a type of skin disease. it can be controlled to the point of being abated and hopefully will go away soon. ask the dr for advice on diet as well as creams for this condition.
the factthat ur worried just shows the love and concern u have for your son. hopefully your TLC will help him grow out of this.

Dermatitis is a blanket term literally meaning "inflammation of the skin". It is usually used to refer to eczema, which is also known as Dermatitis eczema. There are several different types. Usually all of them have in common an allergic reaction to specific allergens.(Wikipedia). Consult a Dermatologist.

Take him to a dermatologist. You should had received a referral from the hospital, no matter, either call the pediatrician or look in your local area.
He needs your help now.

well in theory it is a skin disease but you can get cream to get rid of it/reduce the inflamation and antihystamines,its nothing serious so try not to worry too much

Definately use the vitamins that are good for the skin. If you were given medicine, use that. If not, talk to another physician who can help. You may even want to see a dermatologist.

if you are not satisfied with your doctors diagnosis, try talking to a chinese herbalist, or visit an acupuncture shop for advice. the initial consultation is usually free, and if you want to proceed with any medication from them you can, but you are not obliged to do this
