In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

YOU do some research....Jewish Mysticism predates the idea of Satan by at least 2 millinea. Satan was not considered as an evil entity, if he was considered at all until after the dawn of Christianity, and then not for a few centuries, until it had been decided by the Nicean council which books were to be included in the bible. And then it was at least another hunders years before the teachings were wide spread enough for the idea of Satan to be well known.
Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism) was used by Jewish mystics for mroe than 2 thousand years before the birth of Christ.
Now there are followers of the Satanic way that have incorporated Kabbalah into their practices, but that doesn't make the practices any more Satanic in and of themslelves that going into a church makes one a priest. You might want to take a class in comparitive religion sometime and get some more current information.

Christianity comes from Catholicism (which developed about the same time as Islam) which comes from Judaism. Kabbalah comes from Judaism, its simply a Jewish sect.
modern Satanism comes for Antone LeVey who developed it from veroious pagan religions and catholism.
Do some research and you will see.

I don't know much about Kabbalah, but I doubt that it's Satanic. They would have to worship Satan to be Satanic, or just so greedy and evil that Satanic is the best word to describe them. That is, unless, you think any mystical belief is Satanic, in which case you are a nut and there is no point in trying to talk about intelligent topics with you.

Saying Christianity came from Judaism is like saying a diamond comes from coal. Jesus corrected and finished what Judaism started and confused.
A diamond does start as coal but with a great deal of time and pressure and heat it becomes beautiful. Israel was given a gift (Jesus) as many of you have been offered the gift of salvation, they turned it down.
Will you make the same mistake?

all religions go round the same thing. satan does not exist(nor does GOD!), and satan's name comes from the arabic word shitain, meaning enemy. it changed with time to become satan meaning the arabs, enemies of the christians. all his history...people believe what they want to. all religions are as bad as each other. and satanism is what we know as pagnism, named so by the christians, because they were afraid of the competition, that people will believe in them instead of god, so they called them satanists. christianity is so sad.

Christians are probably more convinced of Satan's existence than those who call themselves Satanists.
