It varies by airline. Go to the airline's website or call their general reservations and information number and they will tell you the limits and charges for overages. I have seen weight limits of as few as 35 lbs/16 kilos up to 60 lbs/27 kg.

yeah it depends on the airline and the cabin your taking.with most of the asian airline,like asiana airline,the normal maximum luggage weight is 20 kilos/44 lbs per person on a economy seat.if u want business its heavier so with first class.also they allow more hand carry for the business and first class seats.
