is the statement of apology an insult to the christian

He has...but to be fair....although it was just a quote....he shouldn't have said that....it gained nothing but hate now for every christian person..more than there was before. Knowing the tensions that are right now between religions...that statement was felt strong around the world. I do understand he was saying a speech...about peace...but keep to the point...... There are many people over reacting to his comment...but they feel bashed in the worlds eye's from a very prominent person in society

He already has. Not that he needed to, however. What more does he need to do, give everyone a cookie? Those people need to get some thick skin. They chimp out over a cartoon, and some comments the head of the Catholic church says, yet they don't bat an eye when fanatics from their own flock fly loaded passenger planes into skyscrapers. Madness! Madness I tells ya!

Pope did not insult Christians. He abused billion of Muslims.
So he has to apologize.
pope was not enough smart during he speach. I hope he will have some brains to correct "unplesant" situation

More important for him to ask Almighty God to pardon him and give him some wisdom and knowledge. The position he has in Catholic church, he should get some knowledge. May be after getting some Good real study, God might change his life and he revert to true Deen.
May Allah bless him and give him wisdom to find truth. I also pray for all of us, may God All mighty give us wisdom to follow true teachings of Abraham, Moses, and Jesus ( Peace be upon all of them), Ameen.
If any one sincerely follow teachings of Abraham, Moses, and Jesus ( Peace be upon all of them), that person will recognize Last massanger and final Testament ( That is Qura'n) True and Justified.
Apologizing today's Muslims does not clear him self in front of All Mighty God.
The God of Adam, Noha, Abraham, Isac, Ishmael, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammed ( Peace be upon all of them).
I invite all Non Muslims to read their own Scripture of beliefs, but sincerely seriously, and carefully. I guaranty, you will find truth. And then read Qura'n, you will be amazed to find how Qura;n acknowledges previous Prophets and Massages delivered by them and books reveled on them.
Muhammed ( pbuh) was not the founder of Islam. Islam is there since First man and First Prophet Adam (pbuh). Muhammed (pbuh) is the last massanger and seal of Prophetic series.
According to Hadees, God All Mighty has sent 124,000 prophets and massangers for the guidance of humanity, on each nation of the time and each part of the world. And each Massanger or Prophet ( pbu all of them) came with one basic massage, that is worship only one true God. The God without partner, without sharing of athority. The only creator of each and every thing on this world and universes. God knows better, may be Gotam Budh ( Budha) and Krishna, were also came as massangers ( But we can not say authenticaly because there names are not mentioned in Qura'n or Bibles we know, In Qura'n only few names are mansioned for our information)
If you see thier teachings they never clamed for devine positions by them selves.
May Allah shower his blessings on all of us and give wisdom to recognize and follow truth. ( Amen)

Yes he should. One he is just human, Second he is considered as a respectful man . If you had insulted anyone in public or what they believe in . You should apologise in public. I mean you won't die if you apologise right?
