yes!! exercise releases endorphins which make you happy the same which get released during sex. Your body is just telling you to look after yourself and enjoy life. I myself get sluggish and tired if I don't exercise, a quick jog or a lap in the pool usually wakes me up and keeps me feeling 100%

Definitely. Although I didn't quit entirely. I run, a lot... perhaps about 5 - 6 times a week. A year ago, I had an IT-band injury and couldn't run for a solid month.

I did everything else: swam, did the elliptical and weight trained, but I could not run. I went nuts even though I did my best to get around the injury. I lost some appetite, I worried about weight gain, and I couldn't sleep at night. Something was definitely missing in my life.

This is a fairly common occurance for those who were once active and then stop (for whatever reason).

To change the way you feel, start working out. You'll have to start nearly over, though, being that you've been out of the habit for about 3 months, but you'll feel better soon enough.

Good luck.

Yes, I would be really upset, depressed just like the other runner that answered you. When you do return to exercise after such a long time off, please remember that you are sort of like a beginner again. Do not expect your body to do what it was used to right away.
