Psalm 137
137:1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.
137:2 We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.
137:3 For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
137:4 How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land?
137:5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.
137:6 If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.
137:7 Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.
137:8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.
137:9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

In the scorched trail
of a Sunbream iron

Paint your face with Revlon
To hide your frown
In the blue gloam glare
Of your Rank Television

Carry it away from Myers now
Requiring of us a lon
How can we live without these things
in Templestowe

Buy an electric toothbrush for your mouth
Roche medication for your heart
You'll be comfortable locked uptight
In your sauna

Let the third world rabble on
If dishwasher breaks down
An eyeful of Visine
A floral tissue to cry on

In the valley of Silicon
Where we may drown
And there we leapt
Into blind oblivion

Carry it away from Tandy now
A computer of your own
How can we live without a VDU
And a life programme

A bottle of Listerine for your mouth
A pair of Adidas for your heard
You'll be comfortable locked uptight
In your wardrobe

Buy a litre of Fabulon
Dare we spray down
In the scorched trail
of a Sunbream iron

I have so many in Psalms, but the one that comes to mind is Psalms 100

Psalms 100
1-5
1. Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
2. Worship the Lord with gladness; come
before him with joyful songs
3.Know that the Lord is God,
It is He who made us, and we are his,
we are His people, and the sheep of his
pasture.
4.Enter his gates with thanksgiving and
His courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise His name,
5.For the Lord is good and His love endures
forever;
His faithfulness continues through all
generations.

My reason is when my father got cancer he was not a christian, we had prayed for years for him and he did accept the Lord, he died about a year later. On his headstone this is the verse I choose because it made me think this is what ny dad was doing, entering His gate with gladness. He had not been a very nice or happy person & he finally was!

oh boy sorry , I just saw the bottom, hope you like this one too!

(Psalm 83:18) That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth.

It establishes God's personal name. Not his title, LORD, which is important, but it is his name that must be glorified.
It supports (Exodus 6:3) And I used to appear to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as God Almighty, but as respects my name Jehovah I did not make myself known to them.

Psalm 151, because it's short and pithy and pregnant with meaning.
