You need some form of ID

A lot of people answering this have already highlighted that whilst it is not necessary for you to use your passport from Scotland (or any other domestic flight within the UK to destination within the UK) to London, you will need acceptable forms of ID with a photo.

I will expand this further for people reading your question and who do not have any photo ID to make a domestic flight.

There is such a thing that is accepted as the ID is verified before it is issued and is accepted for a domestic flight is the Citizen's Card. For pair of photos and a small fee (currently £9.00) they will verify your ID and issue you with a card with you photo on it. It is the same card used to prove your age when out drinking (in the case of those lucky enough to look under 21 (even though the legal age for alcohol is 18 in the UK) to prove their age and that they are old enough to buy alcoholic drinks). This card is being accepted by airlines as valid photo ID for internal flights in the UK

For more information go to www.citizencard.co.uk

Yes, but photographic ID is required now. This too is the case you fly from Newcastle to London for example too or to the Isle of Man etc.

Yes you can, but you will need some sort of photographic ID. The obvious choices would be either your passport or driving licence.

If you have a passport take it just in case, I have heard of some airlines refusing passengers on internal flights because they didn't have a passport, take some form of ID with you.

Yes you can, you are not crossing an international border as you will still be in the UK - a government recognised photo ID will be required though ie a driving liscence but your local matalan card would not be accepted

A few years back I would have said you were taking the pxss, but now I would take my passport if I travelled anywhere in the UK.

A sad but a true situation!
