How many you need is a matter of personal preferance. Buy it as you need it in order to not clutter your place with lots of unnecessary items. 30 bibs is extreme! buy them as you need them. I have 3 kids. With my first I needed a new bib every hour as she would drool soo much. With my other 2 I didn't even bother as they just didn't drool that much at all and didn't need bibs. When eating I covered them with a kitchn towel and that way clean up was easy and painless.

For towels, maybe get one or 2 of those baby ones with the head cover otherwise just use soft towels from your own stash.

when it comes to cribs, that is one I can't answer as I had a crib that I used for a couple weeks with my first after that it just became a useless piece of furniture in my house. You never know when the diaper will leak or baby will spit up so you may need anywhere from 2 sets to 30.

Babies are just another market of useless stuff to take advantage of new parents for cash. So depends on how much you want to spend and how much room you have in your house. Don't buy more then you will need. Remember when baby comes you can still leave the house for some shopping if you forget something or realize you want more of something.

Other than blankets and receiving blankets (the lite weight ones) you don't need a whole lot until the baby gets bigger. In terms of amounts think about how often you do laundry. Many of times I have been thankful about how many sheets I had 4-5 when it's the middle of the night and my son's crib needs to be changed again. Bibs you can never have enough of but only if they're the good ones with a plastic backing, cloth cover, and snap closure all the other ones are crap.

It depends on how much you actually need but at first I would think about 8-12 Bibs, 4 Towels, 4-6 Fitted Crib Sheets, and 4-6 Blankets.

I have to agree that it depends on how often you want to do the laundry, as well as how pick you are about things being dirty. For example, my daughter can use the same bib for 3 or 4 days. She barely gets anything on them, and I rinse them off within minutes. I have 30+ bibs, but I see no reason to use a fresh one at every meal if the previous one isn't dirty. For towels, get 2 or 3 for the baby, and an extra 2 for yourself. Once babies can sit up in the tub, they love to splash and get you wet as well. Blankets, 2 or 3 as well. As for sheets, have at least 3 regular sheets, as well as one set that you really don't care for (they're good when the baby is sick and will probably ruin the sheets).

bibs you will not need right away, but all of these depend on how often you are able to do the laundry. if you have a washer at home....
bibs....enough to last 2 days...maybe 8 for later
towels.....only a few like 2 or 3...enough for baths
crib sheets.....only about 2 or 3
crib blankets......depends on the weather were you are.....3 or 4?
don't forget the burp cloths (alot...like 10) and the snot sucker(nasal aspirator). you are going to need them.

congratulations!...I am also due in December with my 3rd. let me know if you have any more questions!

I'd get at least 20 bibs,1or 2 towels(only if you want, my kids use adult size ones. they are nice to wrap right around them, as they're bigger than the baby ones. And often softer). Get about 3-5 cot blankets+sheets(a safe amount to alternate for washing). Just don't go mad, because most of the stuff you buy, you will never get round to using. This is a good site, but the best site for any parent is www.mums-net.com .It will get you through pretty much any thing, and there is always someone in the same boat as you. Or E-mail me if you need to talk.

I have to disagree with most of the people here. Bibs are GREAT to have, even for newborns. Two of my babies (not all, but 2 out of 3) spit up all the time. They even have milk coming out of their mouth while they were breastfeeding or taking a bottle. So unless you want to change them 8 times a day (I did this, it's a lot of work!) bibs can be a great thing!

My youngest now is three months, and I can tell you, the bibs are wonderful for when he has a bottle. He's so messy! He just lets it leak down his face and neck, the little goober. :o)

that all depends on how much you want to do laundry, 1-3 crib sheets, lots of bibs...(but not till later), 3-4 towels. It is different in america we are told not to put blankets in bed with babies for the first 9 months or so. The one thing you do need a lot of is swadling blankets i mean like 15 or so! good luck!!!

Hi there,
I have a 12month old and I can tell you that I need a lot of bibs cause of the way he drank his milk, baby towel- get like 2-4 that should be good enough (hooded towels) Cot Blankets_ babys should not sleep with blankets cause they can stop there breathing if covered, so I would use them when you are going to be around (4)
And cot sheets, get 2-4 cause they mite get wet in the night and you 'll need to change quick.
Hope this helps,.
good luck!

Please don't put your child to sleep with a blanket or quilt until nine or twelve months, for fear of SIDS.

Get more bibs than you think you need, they get nasty quick and then they won't come clean. Maybe stained bibs are OK around the house, but you'll want nice fresh ones to take your bundle of joy to see Grandma and Grandpa.

Get a dozen or more old-fashioned cloth diapers. You can use them to wipe messy faces, clean baby spit-up, protect your clothes, and protect whatever surface from a dirty diaper when you change the new addition.

Congratulations!
