Hello!! :o) I think it takes most people some time to get used to praying. Our minds are often running in high gear and it's not used to slowing down enough to make prayer feel 'real'. I think it's always important to be honest in prayer. Tell God that when you pray it feels like you're talking to yourself. And then ask Him to make the experience more real for you. And then thank Him. When a person prays - they are entering into a 'world' [so to speak] that is so foreign to the one they're used to. Please try to be patient with yourself. A big part of prayer is saying nothing at all. It's about listening to God. WAITING on Him to respond. Craig!! :o)

Everyone do not feel anything but some do. Now people do become emotionally while praying and some feel the power of the holy spirit while praying as evidence that god is working things out, like an assurance.

The question you should be asking yourself is whom are you praying to. There is only one true God. God the Father, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit in one.
When you accept Jesus into your heart. Yes you will feel his presence. Its a inner peace that only He can fulfill. It would bring you to your knees and free your soul. He often does gives you a good cry at times.
Blessings

You don't have to feel anything when you pray. You are talking to God and he knows your heart. Just talk to HIM like you would a friend. Feelings can be deceptive.

You do not necessarily need to "feel" anything.
Prayer is adoration, thankfulness and supplication to God.
It is talking to God, through Christ Jesus, not talking to yourself.
If it is God's will for you to see or feel or experience something supernatural during prayer, which can happen, becuase prayer is truly powerful, then He will make it happen.

Considering all you do when you pray is talk to yourself, yes, you're supposed to feel like you're talking to yourself.

try to be near to God, as a Muslim I realy feel so happy & comfortable when I pray, nothing in my life's problems would let me force me to feel sad, because I believe that God is standing with me.

Well, since I'm catholic, the only thing I feel is sore knees!
Your feelings should be ones of inner peace.
