Personally, I wouldn't make the cat so angry as to give it the reason to attack me. If its ears go flat on to its head and the tail starts swishing - back off! A cat will just lash out and will have little consideration for where it scratches you. Don't pick it up or you might just get bitten as well!

not neutering will purely make him greater aggressive. and likewise will improve the possibility to his well-being. it seems which you're choosing up some fragrance from being interior the storage, and he would not like it. If he would not attack others who additionally go into the storage, what are you doing diverse? Letting him out greater runs the possibility of him going after a woman in warmth, assembly up with a bigger and better intact male, who will beat the dwelling daylights out of him. Get him neutered. he would be a much greater friendly cat to have around.

if you touch a cat on the back it should be OK, touching the chest is risking a scratch on the hand, although if you focus on letting your hand go limp it won't hurt. (and is good Zen practice!)
Don't pick up a cat when it is fighting, you will get scratched and bitten.
When hungry our cat has a habit of attacking my leg from behind, with all four claws.
