I had been on birth control pills for about 10 months. I began having irregular periods (come to find out due to ovarian cysts) and stopped taking them. I figured if they're irregular on the pills, then I should stop taking them until I get checked out. It just so happens about a week after I stopped taking them it would be my time to ovulate. I didn't know that until AFTER my mate and I had unprotected sex. What would be the possibily that I am pregnant? I have to wait another week to find out the old fashioned way.

You can get pregnant as soon as you stop the pill. It's both possible and safe. The hormones from the pill leave your body as soon as you stop taking it. Though it may take several months for your body to readjust and start ovulating again.

Here is a good link discussing the ovarian cysts too:

It's so hard to say when you go off the pill. I think you probably ovulate soon after going off the pill. I had a Dr tell me that b/c only works for 24 hours, so each pill is good for 24 hours, so if you go off, or even accidently skip a pill, you could get pregnant. You're just going to have to try and be patient until it's time to take a preg test...but in the mean time, don't drive yourself crazy wondering if you are! Good luck and if you are preg, congrats!

Well then you're just going to have to wait another week, aren't you?

Your question is misleading. Your question isn't about ovulation or birth control, it's YET ANOTHER "am I pregnant?" question.

OKAY GIRLS - WE CANNOT TELL IF YOU'RE PREGNANT. People on Yahoo Answers do not look into some sort of globe, we're not psychics, and obviously, we aren't doctors.

For the love of god - STOP ASKING IF YOU'RE PREGNANT! You WON'T find out here!!!!

Odds are not...because it takes a bit of time for the hormones to get out of your system.

Give it a few weeks and then if you still don't start, buy a home pregnancy test.

Good luck.
