firstly, kidney stones are formed by eating too much oscalate(found in colas, teas, etc), and being dehydrated. your kidneys need fluids to process the waste going through them. they are serious and very painful. some get as big as peas. mine was the size of a sesame seed and i was out of work for 3 weeks. i had to drink plenty of water w/lemon and took pain pills. some do require surgery if they do not pass on their own. but, sometimes the doctors will try to dissolve them with medication first since trying to get them out might push them back into your kidney. so, to avoid them, drink less oscelated drinks and foods, drink plenty of water and ingest plenty of citrus, and keep hydrated, exercise, and eat a low fat diet. since having my kidney stone, i have practically quit drinking colas and have increased my water intake considerabley. once you have a kidney stone, though, your chances of them becoming a repeat is high. so, do as your doctor says so that you won't have to experience it more than once.

kidney stones can be caused by many different factors. Depending on what particular type you have.
My daughter had kidney stones when she was 18 and they told us that milk can do it and so can drinking lots of soda.
The surgery was lazer. So she has no scars. You should not have any problems after the surgery. Unless you don't have the surgery. THEN you could have problems. They cause lots of back pain (like you don't know this already) and it will get worse if they aren't taken care of. How they are formed I don't know that much. You'd have to do a web search on that.

Stones may be formed due to excess ammount of calcium in the blood. Kidney stones may become serious when they damage the kidneys and their capacity to filter the blood is impaired. Successful surgical removal of stones are unlikely to cause any problem in later life. Some stones can be removed without any surgical cut. Some people claim to have removed kidney stones without surgery.

Kidney stones may form to our kidney because of excess in salts, vitamin c or ascorbic acid. If these substance will prolonged to our kidney it will turn to liquid then solid (little stones).
They are serious, because it could affect our metabolism, appetite and our health.
Kidney stones need to performed an surgery if the stones in our kidney can not be removed through laser. Surgery is major one to remove kidney stones in our body, but because of technology there are alternatives like laser and medicines that can make these stones to more liquid.

kidney stones are nothing but salts in the body getting crystalized and becoming hard as stones. Since kidneys function is to remove all the excess salts from the blood these salts are sent to kidneys where crystalization of these salts takes place and later these stones obstruct the free passage of urine and create pain , injury and sometimes abcess also. Some of these stones break into smaller bits and pass into urethra ( urine tube) and obstruct the passage of urine and there will be teriffic pain. In allopathy first some medicines are given to dissolve these salts and when they fail surgery is the only remedy. The operation though sensitive nowadays it is quite safe you need not worry. In the systems like homeopathy there are some wonderful medicines to dissolve these crystals easily and you can also try them.

I have heard reports of high fructose corn syrup being a possible cause. I know a couple people with kidney stone problems who stopped drinking soda and the stones also stopped.

Best thing to do is make sure you drink adequate amounts of water regularly, to flush sediment out of the kidneys before they can form into stones. Stones vary in size. When I had mine, the hosptial indicated anything less than 0.5mm, they would just send me home with pain killers.
