Tell him to go see a doctor it sounds as if he has sleep apnea. This is a serious condition if not treated he could suffucate in his sleep. See what this condition does is it blocks your airway and that is why you snore you need a breathing machine to push air through your nose to keep the airway open then the snoring stops and you and everyone else can sleep better.I know I have it.

buy ear plugs or bury your head under a pillow. then i would suggest to the roomie to go see a doctor about maybe having sleep apnea and getting on a c-pap machine. or just bump the roomie and tell roomie to roll over.

try asking them to turn over. Maybe you could get some of those nose strips for snoring. They really work on my brother in law. I tried them but they almost pulled the skin off my nose.
