Because some people are stupid and deserve stupid answers. Just like this question.
Or maybe the person is just bored and wants some cheap fun at other peoples expense.

I know one person who said she lived for conflict. I try to be nice. Sometimes it comes off bad, but I do not mean it to be. I think there are some people on here that just seem like they drink their own urine daily. It is just that they are so sour and bitter. I think it is their own insecurity and feelings of inner pain. They probably just feel a great deal of discomfort living in their own skin. I am nice most of the time, but when I am not it is because I am in physical pain or just feeling yucky. I think some people just hate themselves all the time and everything comes out so sour. They seem like the have a superiority complex. It is really because they feel so inferior about many other things.
Good point. I would rather just have helpful answers. Yahoo was good for a while at taking insults off, but has been pretty lax lately. I have seen some people called some pretty bad names. They are doing nothing. I would say report it and hopefully they will improve it and people will not waste their time.
At least they will ask you a question or say they are sorry about your problem rather than bashing.
I hope this helps.

The honest answer to this is... because people are free to do so...
I, for one, do not live in the sort of world that is controlled by thought police... I believe in the freedom of thought and action... I'm sure you do to!
However, as for people not being mean ... why shouldn't they if that's what lights their candle/floats their boat? Who are any of us to say that they are sad?
Many of the questions that exist are not in need of a solution... and some are so serious that a little humour goes a long way! Others are very complex though and would get very few responses if people did not comment with "sad" answers...
I quite enjoy people that make stupid replies... you can always ignore them if you want.... so don't get yourself so wound up...
Live an let live...

The trouble a lot of us have here on Yahoo is there are some idiots out there who, when you ask a good question are too stupid or, thick to answer any questions in a respectful way so all they can do is offend or insult the questioner, this is all about points and they are so intent on their points that they do not realise they don't actually win anything that shows their intelligence

You tell them, I have had criticism for not using the spell check I wouldn't mind but the question I asked was about cooking not grammar, Perhaps there should be another answer website set up for all those people who like moaning and not answering the questions we ask, and another for all those people who have to put sex in to everything they write. If you answer a question it should try to contain a bit of the answer someone is asking for if not don't bother answering it.

Some people have a lot of latent hostility & just like to lash out indiscriminately at anyone who will listen. It's a shame really.
People should really live by the rule: if you can't say something nice, shut the f*&^ up!

I agree, this is not a place to vent anger on others.
If they want to criticise at least let it be constructive and answered in a helpful manner.
No reason to answer with spite or malice at all.
Does it make the respondent feel superior?

My own personal opinion is that this "game" has no bearing on everyday life. Most people are here for a laugh and to have a bit of fun. Maybe you could help yourself to lighten up a little by taking that rod out of your R's

Sometimes the questions are provocative and meant to get a response. Other than that, the answerers are just cowards - they wouldn't dream of saying those things to your face.

I agree with you honey! If you don't like the question or think it's stupid, don't waste your time abusing the person who's asked it! Grow up and answer a question properly!
