Why are they so many of us fascinated by people that say the can contact the death?

I think because it gives people a reason to believe that there is possible life after death and for those of us who have lost loved ones we find this comforting.

because all life ends, and some people need some assurance that there is something after death. There are recorded phenomena that may point so otherworldly appiritions but there can never be any conclusive evidence.
Beliveing in spirit mediums etc is much like any religion - it requires a huge amount of faith

I'm fascinated by the sheer gall of these people. What gives them the right to extort money out of people who have probably only recently lost a loved one? I've seen two members of my own family sucked in by a so called "medium". It has no basis in scientific fact.

Some people are not fascinated. I, for example, think that they are all con-men (if Darren Brown can teach people do 'dry read', then anyone can learn it!). My husband is not fascinated, he thinks that maybe they are contacting demons. Both are fair viewpoints, I think.

In either case, I recommend that you should stay away from Spiritualists (or mediums or whatever), and stick to Yahoo-ing instead! ;)

Because death is the ultimate mystery. Some people are afraid of nothing, others of eternal punishment, and there's no way of knowing until it happens to us.

Also, it's natural to worry about loved ones who have died and to hold out hope of seeing them again. A lot of these 'mediums' are very smooth and convincing, but most of the techniques they use are similar to nightclub mind-reading acts.

It may be the fascination is to do with the spiritualist appears to have knowledge and powers, which by all accounts is unobtainable to the plain,ordinary,under privileged human.

Because some people are ignorant to the fact that there are "familiar spirits" out there that have been with you every since birth. It says in the Bible to beware of those pesky things.

because in this caotic world every 1 is looking for something and most want an easy fix and that seems to work for most ....and most have wronged a person r 2 and want to heal what they feel is messed up....

coz its unusual...its interesting to find out stuff about what death is like and what happens afterwards...coz we know so little, and only have theories from religions and science...we just listen to these things to see if theres anything new to suggest what happens after...
