Good question, I have recently boosted my self esteem alot and am still fine tuning it. What is comes down to is your self talk. I just changed mine. First I picked 3 qualites that I really wanted and said "I am secure, fair, and independent" for example. I said them probably hundreds of times a day. Once my brain acted on what it was saying, I changed it and added more or different things. You create youself from you self talk. You can litereally brainwash yourself out of what your parents put into your mind as a child and become a strong, confident person despite bad relationship and experiences. i believe in you, so go and make me proud:)

One thing that helped me a while back was when the boss and supervisor were trying so hard to remember some famous person's name, so I ran to the computer and looked it up and told them. They didn't know I did that, they thought I just knew the answer, but they praised for it. That and remembering some colleague or customer's name when they couldn't. Strange I can't remember half the things I need to do, but can always come up with some random names like that, especially if I have seen them in print. Anyway, surprising the higher ups like that can go a long way.

I find that, by dressing well boosts my self esteem at work. It gives you more confidence and makes you feel better about yourself. Make sure your always on time and you don't take unexcused days off. Bosses like that. Everything else will fall into place.

You need to spend some time for yourself. Join a gym. I find that when I workout I can get through my day. Plus it makes you feel a whole lot better taking your frustrations out on treadmill or in kickboxing class.

Read your employee handbook and do whatever it says. Doing this will ensure that your boss will be eating out of your hands.
