I totally relate to what you are saying. This has been the story of my life. I have wasted far to many nights either crying my eyes out for no apparent reason or taking offence at something someone's said and then going off on one. I used to try and avoid certain drinks but I'm now coming to the conclusion that me and alcohol is not a good combination.
The solution is - stop drinking. If your mates have seen what you are like after a few too many then they should be supportive of you.
After all life's too short to waste it being out of control, waking up with a bad hangover and (possibly) having to apologise to people you may have upset. What's the point!

sad story
go to Oregonlive.com and you can listen to an 18year old boy get shot and killed early Saturday morning by Tigard, Oregon(Ptld. Metro Area) police. You can hear the entire thing take part, because the 911 tape was released yesterday.
He, Lukus Glenn, had a "few too many" and his mother called 911 when he was getting rowdy after some friends brought him home from a party. The police came and did not try to settle him down, they yelled and yelled and yelled at him. Threw his friend that didn't have anything to do with it to the ground and then shot the 18year old, while his mom was on the phone with the 911 dispatcher.
All this took place right outside his home, he was shot because he had a pocket knife in his hand and wanted to go inside to be with his parents.
The kid was just skunk as.s drunk and the yelling confused him and angered him, because he was just so drunk he really had no idea what was happening; Almost a dream state if you've ever been that drunk before.

I use to have the same problem. After having a few drinks I would even go against my friends who were out trying to have a good time with me. Eventually I learned to control it by not going past the stage when I would start to feel merry, I would stop drinking so the alcohol effect would go down or else I would get to that stage is when you become someone you didn't even know existed and you want to fight the whole world. My advice is learn to control your drinking or else don't drink! You'll save yourself some embarrasment.

You are a mad person. The alcohol inhibits you and the true you comes out or alcohol intoxication makes you made. Either way you are just as made as the rest of the people who drink. Stop drinking before you do something you can't take back or undo. Your are like a bomb and when you explode the damage will be too great and you won't be able to make repairs. What the hell is making you drink? Figure that out and you have found the cure. Cure the problem and you will get better. Get better and you won't drink.

I am exactly the same. Saturday night was a nightmare. Got to the merry stage and then I start dringing faster and faster. I think it could be Vodka. I've spoke to a few people and they have said Vodka or just drinking spirts all night does exactly the same to them. What do you drink?

This needs serious study and diagnosis.
I myself don't have a problem, tending to get happier and calmer when I drink. Many I have drunk with have this problem, with some it's only one type of alcohol - like whiskey.
They do things that get them in serious trouble and talk like they have paranoid schizophrenia, listening to no-body and no-one.
For some it is caused by repressed anger, but believe me I can clock those guys sober and don't drink with them.
What I am talking about is chemically induced psychosis.

I found it was red wine that sent me loopy - try changing you tipple or maybe give up for a few months. In the end I have given up as I had too many weekends spent apologising to my mates

Yes, that's me, I turn into a monster, screaming, crying, lashing out. I don't drink at all anymore, it's just not safe for me to drink.
