I don't want a chek up or anything and hope they won't make me, I haven't been to the dentist in a couple years and don't have dental insurance; a filling broke out just now and I want it replaced. I know it varies depending on the dentist, I just want some sort of idea.

I had one done for $116 with insurance. I have a friend who paid $86 at the same dental office, without insurance.

God, do I empathize with you! I hate the dentist and will do anything to avoid it. I may have an alternative for you that worked great for me.
There is this stuff you can buy for about $6 at the drug store. It's called "Temparin". It's a tiny little vial of this stuff that looks like spackling. You don't need much. All you do is take a little of it and fill the area where your filling was. It dries in just a few minutes and lasts and lasts and lasts. I love it. Dentists use the same stuff, but they will never tell you that you can buy it over-the-counter.
Just make sure you clean the area really good before applying it. And when you take the lid off the small little container, take the amount out you need and put the lid back on immediately or it will dry up. Only about $6 and no visit to the dentist. Yea!!!!
You can get it at Sav ons or Rite Aid. It's hard find it in the store... it's with all the dental stuff of course. Ask the Pharmacist if you don't see it. Try it, I promise you'll love it!
Good Luck

Depending on how many "points" the filling is, anywhere from $49-89 usually though some places may be more. You will likely have to have x-rays though which are usually not too expensive. You should check to see if there are charity clinics (look under social services in yellow pages) or dental schools. Always get a rough estimate before you go in. Don't let a broken filling go to long like I did. I had to get a root canal that cost $700! I'm still paying on it months later.

I have paid $100 to $200 per tooth at the dentist I go to.

But I also require the antibiotics.

I had mine replaced. The dentist drilled the old one and it cost me 100 dollars. But it depends in every dentist. So just ask your own, and ask for a discount too.

Expect at least to have an x-ray before getting anything done. Between the x-ray and filling, you might expect to pay $100 to $250.

Depends if it can be refilled or if you will need a crown. If you have a Rite Aid in your area (possibly some other pharmacys) you can actually purchase a little Red Cross kit to refill on your own if you dare try.
