Are there ANY side effects to this? I take 2 shakes daily and workout 4 times a week. Pls advise.

Whey protein is the best absorbed in the protein world. If you are having stomach problems, then look for lactose free (yes, they make it in whey now). When you increase protein, you should also increase the amount of water you drink in order to protect your kidneys. Just don't take in too much protein. I've never heard of any serious problems with whey. Oh, if you're having problems, it could also be the artificial sweeteners found in many protein powders.

you don't need to over-do the protein, 2 shakes a day might be a little much

also, taking an adequate supply of other vitamins should help you tremendously, vitamins can be found at the site below, or GNC has good vitamins as well

Well, they do not slow your metabolism down. however, if you are allergic to milk they could cause symptoms ranging from a feeling of upset stomach to a tired feeling (this might be the slow metabolish thing). You've, probably, heard of "lactose intolerant" this simply means that you're allergic to milk. whey is derived from milk. if you have not noticed this then you are probably not allergic to milk. if you find that you're experiencing any on these symptoms then you might try soy protein. it's as good as whey and a little higher in protein content.

they tend to slow your metabolism down. sometimes they cause heavy diarhea.
