I had a hysterectomy about 4 years ago, due to some trouble I was having, but I had my uterus removed and they left my ovaries so I wouldn't have to take hormones. There is factors involved with that sort of operation. You still have to have a yearly pap done and you could still develop problems with your ovaries. As far as there being anything off the wall happening just because your uterus was removed, I haven't had any trouble. Just make sure you still get your yearly pap test done and you will be fine.
