All of humanity is "born dead" ...in our sin nature, we are separated from life (Christ) When we turn & repent, ask Jesus Christ to be our Lord & Savior, then we are raised from the dead...right then & there! We also have nothing to fear from the 2nd death, in which all those that have not made the decision for Christ, will be cast away forever. (this event occuring at the ending of humanity in time) As for the Dead in Christ rising in 1 Thes.4:16..that verse is in reference to a uniting of our souls with the new spiritual bodies (like the one that Christ showed to the disciples after His resurrection) that will be the "New mansions" instead of the old tents..in which we currently dwell.

Paul is speaking about the future.

You're speaking about the residual of the burst of life energy that Jesus used to raise himself up from the dead, as well as many of those around him.

That was simply a blessing and a sign.

God has always been in the habit of "spreading" his grace around, "broadcast" style.

St. Paul is speaking of the end of the age, judgment day, when Christ will return with all the angels and saints.

This is a future event, not a past event.

No, the dead in christ along with the rest of the dead will only rise once when Christ returns in the end.

this has not yet happened but it's coming soon. This scripture refers to Christ's rapture of the church. The believers that have died will be lifted up first followed by the living believers. Time is short people. The best thing you can do is live for Him today. Have you accepted Jesus into your heart? All you have to do is pray that He will enter your heart and forgive you of your sins. Then you have to live like you mean it.
