Why do they try to blame it on their DNA?

Why don't they just say that they WANT to be gay?

If you say it's because you "never would have chosen to be gay", then WHY are you choosing to live a gay lifestyle?

If a Heterosexual has an uncontrollable compulsion to have sex, people call it Nymphomania. Why do Homosexuals act like that is normal?

If Homosexual Nymphomania is not normal, then WHY do so many Homosexuals insist that they have no control over their gay desires and that they just have to have sex with the same gender?

Isn't that a double standard?

Isn't it interresting that when a person makes a good argument, people from the other side of the argument will try to dismiss the argument and say "Who cares" instead of actually trying to answer it?

I never said if I believed Homosexuality IS or ISN'T biological, only that I don't understand why it's SO important to prove that it is.

Also, I myself am a person with Homosexual feelings/tendencies/genes/whatever, and I personally chose NOT to live a Gay Lifestyle but to live celibately. It would by Hypocritical for me to ever advocate mistreatment of homosexuals, since I myself technically AM one, even though I CHOOSE not to act on it.

It's such an easy out to say, "God made me do it". You can pass on taking responsibility for your actions. Once you've taken a small step over the line and used the "I was born this way" excuse, it becomes easier and easier to extend your behavior to greater and greater excesses. Look how AIDS initially went down as gays used safe sex, now the number of infected people is rising faster and faster, because a large portion of people with risky behavior won't modify their activities to keep their partners safe. We all pay for their medical treatment for the rest of their lives.

Being homosexual is one factor, but why should it lead to rampant promiscuity, especially when there is a life threatening disease in that community.

There is also a huge element of risk involved.

It is incorrect to label all homosexuals the same. This is because some have been made homosexual by nature, and others chose it. So both sides of the argument discussed above have some validity.

The difference is, I agree with the asker, in how people demonstrate, or not, their homosexual inclinations. Those who are naturally homosexual should have the same rights as heterosexuals to acknowledging their sexuality. Of these those with any integrity and sense, would not go out exhibiting their homesexuality, but would consider it to be a matter of their own personal privacy to which they have a right.

Do not forget that in history, some of the greatest genius were homosexual. Like Leonardo Da Vinci. Yet he never demonstrated this in his work, and he was loved, indeed adored, by both women and men, for his worth as a human being and for being the greatest artist and inventor of all times.

But I can understand the askers concern, nowadays being homosexual had become a fad, in particular in the show business. I believe that advertising homosexuality is inappropriate. It generates "acquired homosexuality", i.e. by people who are not naturally homosexual, but chose it in order to follow someone else they admire.

This then leads at some later point in life to homophobia. Most people who killed a homosexual were at some point abused by one.

So, what is the conclusion from all of this? Whilst people cannot change their nature which was given to them for good reasons, why not being dignified about it in all aspects, and to keep privacy private.

well u know when u do something u know is wrong the worst person u can blame it on is yourself so they are trying to find a way that they can live the kind of life they want and be in public and act like any other couple.

in the area i live, they have a whole area that is nothing but homosexuals , u go into the store there and men are dressed as women , they have their own clubs and their own apartment complexes and houses , very nice ones too, and i have yet to meet a poor homosexual and u wanna know why, they can draw an income from the government and be able to work, so they are making about triple of what an average person makes a year, and then when their lovers do the same thing they are really considered in the wealthy or rich category, so some may choose it for the money and the benifits they get and the pleasure they like also,

see the average person where i live gets about 600.00 a month in government benefits and the average homosexual gets 1200.00-1500.00 a month and then u add them working on top of that and they are making it real good, whereas the average person getting government benefits of 600.00 a month cannot work or they lose their benefits so go figure.

im sure its happening more than just the place i live .

I'm not a nymphomanic. But I did not choose to be homosexual, and the science is more and more in agreement with that assertation.

Do your research hun. To give you a hint, the primary structural difference in the brain between homosexual and heterosexuals occurs in a portion of the brain called the medula oblongota, which regulates the 'base' components of our being (biological homostasis, attraction/aversion emotion, etc). There is a cluster of cells in the portion of the medula oblongota that forms only slight or doesn't form at all. This difference can be measured in over 66% of all homosexual males.

There are also numerous identitcal twin studies done between identical twins who were separated at birth and raised in different environments. Since the best estimate of the occurance of homosexuality is 1 in 10 in males in the USA, one would expect that in 81% of cases, neither would be gay, 18% one but not both would be gay, and in 1% of the case, both would be gay. The actual statistics put the "both gay" well over 50% despite geographical and environmental differences. This cannot be supported by the choice hypothesis.

In short hun, yes, some guys may make a CHOICE to be gay. I'm not saying genetics is the 100% be all and end all of orientation (most psychological effects are biased by nature and expressed environmentally), but that the evidence is overwhelmingly against the choice hypothesis.

Further, you assert that I made a choice to be gay. I'd like you to consider this -- when did you choose to be straight, and more importantly .... .... what were you before you made that choice?

------------------------------------

Added:

Why do gays 'need' to prove its biological nature. To put it bluntly, because of people like you. In your own question, you say, "Why don't they just say they WANT to be gay?" and "WHY are you choosing to live a gay lifestyle?"

It wasn't a choice. Only by building up sufficient scientific evidence of that fact do we have any hope to show you that we don't have a choice in our orientation -- only how we live it.

Or is it more that you want someone to say, "Oh, well, the Bible says its wrong and only by trying to prove that it's genetic can we prove the Bible wrong and live our lives how we want and not have to worry about the Bible?"

So, what is it you REALLY want to know:

1. Why are you believe you are gay?
2. Why did you choose to be gay?
3. Why does science bother studying this?
4. Why have you not rejected this sinful life and accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior?

I think if you're honest with yourself, #4 is the likely one.

First of all, why does this all matter to you?
Secondly, we are all born the way we are. Our physiological, biological structure are all pretty much predetermined by and through our biological parents. If one is either homo-sexual, or hetero-sexual it is a trait which is developed in the genes. I have read, and discussed so many different points of view it makes ones head spin. Suffice to say, if one is born homo-sexual, then one cannot change that fact. One can simply choose to be asexual, or lie to themselves and try to be heterosexual. (I have known too many people who have committed, or attempted suicide because of societal pressures, so don't you dare make this a debockle, or fun and games!) Further, I have counseled people who, late in life, decided they could no longer live the lie of faking heterosexuality, the result; broken families, broken hearts, and having to recover from the devastation. It's NOT funny! When and if society stops making such judgements on homosexuals, there will be far more healthy relationships and marriages in this country - even in the world. For sake of argument: I am not going to submit research on any of this, my answer comes from personal experience and education.

Because an awful lot of people insist on telling LGB people that we can change, must change, need to change or we'll die early and then go to hell, etc.

No gay person insists that they have an "uncontrollable compulsion to have sex," unless they are a sex addict. What they have is a desire for some members of their own gender. Which is no different from desiring some members of the opposite gender.

I have been bisexual since early childhood, and want to stay that way.

Okay first I have to say somewhere between being gay the issue was raised that gay people are Nymphomaniacs....I think you got a little off topic. Homosexuality is not a compulsion, it is a way of being, its a desire to be with the same gender, not just for sex but for love. Just like Heterosexuals. If either parties have an uncontrollable compulsion to have sex then they are both Nymphomaniacs. No I am not gay but maybe a little bit of a Nymphomaniac.

Well, could YOU fall in love with a man, or even find him attractive? People do not have the choice to be straight or gay. We are what we are. And it's not just an opinion. It's a scientific conclusion. If you got to be a lesbian, enjoy it as fully as you can. You're not doing anybody any harm with it.

It's the era we live in -that's why.

We are living in a scientific time of history, thus, we need to prove everything through science.
Therefore Gay people wish to prove their sexuality scientifically

The same can be said of just about everything from religion to politics, for some reason all of them want some scientific evidence of their own self worth.

And just to clear it up, homosexuality is a socialized thing not biological - just wanted to mention that to all my homosexual readers.

I have to agree with you. Gay people have made a choice in this life to do what goes against God. Even with knowing that it is an abomination against God, they go ahead and do it anyway.

We all make life decisions in this world age. I decided to become a Christian. Was I born a Christian? No. I made a choice to follow Jesus Christ and have eternal life in Heaven with Him.

Gays and homosexuals have consciously made this decision. Today, its the popular thing to do. Are these people that are jumping on this bandwagon accepting this life style out of some biological mutation happening inside their bodies? No. Its just popular.

It also carries a death sentence if not repented of.><>
