Put lots of baby shampoo on your hair.. it's best to put a ziplock bag on it and heat it up with a hair dryer.

Baby shampoo is a different pH than normal shampoo and will help strip out color.

I would sit about 20 minutes with it on.. then wash it out.. and wash again. Wash over the next 3 -4 days and it should be lighter.

Don't over process it.. it could fall out if you don't do it properly

Color does not remove color. If you put a lighter color over your hair it will still look black brown. The only way you can lighten your hair is to have the color stripped form your hair, which can be very damaging, even if you do it and then put ash brown over your hair it probably won't look ash brown, there will be allot of red in it. There are two things you can do, go to a salon and have the color removed and then dye it lighter,or let the color grow out. If your natural color is brown letting it grow out may not look that bad, but if it is blonde you could dye the new growth a brown shade, such as chocolate brown so that it will at least kind of blend, I've seen several girls do this. I might be able to suggest something else if I could actually see your hair. You should go to a few different salons and get opinions before actually deciding on what to do. It would be best to find someone that specializes in hair color correction. Not everyone that can cut hair is good with color. Was this color something you recently have done? If so it might fade some. You could try making it fade more rapidly by using Dawn dish detergent on it and then a good conditioner. Good luck.

OK, well... color will not lift color... so in other words if you put another color over it, it will just become darker.... you need to go to a salon and get some help.... depending on the color that they use they might be able to put some lightening cream in with the color formula, or they can try using a high developer... your hair will be fragile but conditioner and more conditioner will be your friend... when you are in the shower or bath.. whatever... after you wash you hair...put the conditioner in it and leave it in for a while ..... it kinda acts as a Minny scalp treatment... it will help

If you don't want to damage your hair. You should go and have a professional do it. It is a big process when you want to lighten your hair from any dark brown or black color. If you can't afford to go to a salon. Try using Loreal Preference. It is what I use. And it is the least damaging hair color that I have found. My hair is actually softer after I dye it. Good luck.

darkish reddish brown is my fave yet sorry to hearken to approximately your twist of destiny, it occurred to me some situations already final time i've got been given what i purely call orange hair i dyed it the subsequent day and not something undesirable occurred. yet be careful reason somebody human beings declare that it quite messes up their hair to dye it so quickly in case you do come to a determination to dye it the subsequent day provide it a while earlier you do something chemical to it back the wonderful coloration for you impressive now could be something "ashy" like a easy or medium ashy brown. in no way %. heat colours as a result simply by fact they're going to easily make the orange properly.. extra orange? the ashy tones cancel out the pink so it's going to make your hair a extra organic easy or medium brown coloration. after which you would be able to wait somewhat and then bypass forward and dye it the darkish reddish brown. thats precisely what occurred to me and what i did and it worked. sturdy success! :) P.S. if once you dye it the next day or on each and every occasion it is going undesirable back i recommend you spot a hairdresses they are going to be attentive to the thank you to help. its purely going to be extra costly

You won't be an ash base you will be a red base, so if you lightened it you will have an auburn/reddish shade to it.
I suggest you talk to your hairdresser.
