Notion of good and bad as express in "lied" and not "lied" and express in "heaven" and "hell".
First question? Does your four year old watch TV specifically cartoons?
Is your four year old home school or outside of the home?
Now to specifics: The American Government may not promote a religion (denomination), but Americans share a common set of beliefs called the American Civil Religion. In the American Civil Religion you have right and wrong, good and bad, heaven and hell. This is where your 4 year old got the concepts.

Your son is very wise for his age. He has recognized what we as adults choose to overlook as we get older. One, there is a Creator; two, He has standards He holds His creation accountable to; three, we have to choose how we will respond.
Jesus Christ said that we should follow God as little children. He did not mean we should be immature, rather that...just like kids...we need to be open, honest and fully dependent of God for our very lives.
Kiss your son, say a prayer of thanks, and find a solid Bible teaching church where the folks there will help you learn more about loving a serving a wonderful God.

I wouldn't worry about it. It could have been a friend in school who attends Sunday School or anything like that.
But something you might want to consider, if you don't guide them, what will their model for moral behavior be. They are children, and they do not have the life experience, nor the maturity to make those decisions.
But believe me - they will hear some ideas and beliefs from teachers, peers and parents of peers. They will need a backbone of a belief system to gauge what is right and wrong. And it is your job to outline that and set it up. You don't want to leave something that important to strangers.

Meh. Sounds like your son was probably telling the truth the first time when he said his brother's name. He's learning about authority at his age and probably realized immediately that God is a higher authority to back up his story than his brother. Kids do stuff like that. My little sister used to insist that Abraham Lincoln told her things, even though my extremely religious parents used to discourage her from saying stuff like that.

This is God speaking through your kid, the Bible says "OUT OF THE MOUTH OF BABES COMES ORDAINED PRAISE!, Are you a christian? Then this is easy, its the Holy ghost talking to you, out of the mouth of babes, question him about God and were he came from and he will tell you of heavenly things, Now if your not a christian, then Go read John to the end of the book and see Jesus talk about this and the workings of the Holy spirit, I have seen this many times including a kid that when he was Young started speaking french with out being exposed to it!
God wants you to seek him out and he just freaked you out a little to get you started, its in John to the end of revelations!

Well, I don't know how old your son is but you may want to consider where he is developmentally. That is, it will dictate what he needs to know about life or what he perceives about life. His insight is what he has gathered and it is helping him to make sense of it all... the ultimate search for truth. And all kids are different! All 4 of mine are very different from one another.

In my opinion, I believe that its actually a great idea for your child too be somewhat fearful of doing bad things. As for forming his own opinion and choices, that will come later in life when he is an adult. Sometimes fear can be a good thing. Keeps us out of trouble!

Your son could have picked it up anywhere, there are many religious overtones in movies, books, etc. At four he sounds like he may be spiritually sensitive. If he's got honesty on the brain at four, I thinks he's doing pretty darn good!

I don't know where you live but if you live in a Western culture everything is full of Christian Ideology. It wouldn't surprise me if heard it from anyone, anywhere at anytime. If you are in a different culture, yah then I would be creeped out too!!
