My mother died when I was young and I still grieve. So I think your group would be help full to a lot of people who are looking to share with others the pain they feel and discuss how they are coping.

One of the things that people tend to do when grieving, is to withdraw from the public arena and isolate themselves. So if there was a group of likeminded people, to surround and support them, this could only be a good move. Definitely go ahead but research the topic a little, so that no one is offering inappropriate advice, when people are at their most vunerable. One book that has been around for a while you may wish to read is called "On death and dying". Good luck!...

I'm sure many people would appreciate this, but take time to plan on how you will do this and ask for help from a professional counselor. Dealing with human emotions cannot be taken lightly even if your heart is in the right place. In other words, "Look before you leap."

Yes, it does sound like a good idea. It hits home for me. My mother died less than four months ago.

As long as it will help you, then go for it regardless what other people think.
