No, it's not a choice. If a straight woman decided she wanted to be attracted to women instead of men, it would be impossible. How do seven year olds know they're gay? Why does every species of animal show homosexual behavior? People need to look up those links, read them, and then look for more. People need to get educated and let go of their bigotry and prejudice, and let people live their lives.

I don't think anyone chooses to be attracted to the same sex. Especially when you add the stigma of being gay in todays world. I think that most people are physically attracted to certain people and that's it. I don't think anyone sits around saying "I think I'll be attracted to people in glasses today" It just happens. Same thing with people who like blondes, curves, earrings, men, women, etc

I do think though that more and more people are looking past all the physical stuff and going for people who posess certain inner traits. I'm straight but a girl that's cute, funny, smart and witty might make me change that. I wouldn't want to miss out on being with a great person just because their genitals aren't what I'm used to.

I guess my main point though is that people don't usually set out to be different. If being gay is still seen as a negative in this country, I don't know too many people who would be openly gay just for the hell of it.

Well with all that research I wonder why you are still asking the question. I think that love and attraction are not based on gender but one heart/spirit connecting with another. If two people want to be together regardless of sex or race it shouldn't matter. Homosexuality has been with us since the beginning so people need to just accept it instead of question it. I think our focus should be more on acts of hate instead of acts of love.

Thanks for what you're trying to do, but the people in here won't listen. They're all a bunch of intolerant fundamentalists.

Of course people don't choose to be attracted to the same sex, just like people don't choose to be attracted to the opposite sex. While it's true that they choose to act on those desires, there is nothing inherently shameful about anyone's sexuality, period.

And these people here are never going to understand that, because their religious views forbid them to do so.

Dude, don't know what's up with all those sites. No way I'm gonna go to all them, the question is simple enough. No, we don't choose to be straight or gay, it's just the way we are born. I am straight by the way. Just do a survey of people if you wanna know. All the gay people I know were born that way, all the straight people, me included, was born that way. The only ones that ever chose one over the other was out of fear, because they were gay and didn't want anyone to know so they chose to live straight out of fear. Unhappily.

I believe for some it might be a choice, but generally speaking I think they are born that way.

As someone else said, they may not choose to be homosexual, but they do choose the homosexual behavior, if they engage in it.

yes a person chooses to be attracted to the same sex, but its how far you take that attraction, i see attractive women out there that are beautiful, but i wouldn't take it to the homosexual aspect.you notice what you see you would be a robot if you dont notice the beautiful people in the world.

yep they choose it, and all the scientists that try to say they didn't are homosexuals themselves and are trying to protect themselves, u can't believe everything u read.

now alot of them they don't think they choose it and the reason is that its a mental choice that they aren't aware of choosing but do.

for instance, most women that gets abused usually go for abusive men and it usually stems from when they were a child they seen their mother get abused so its like they are attracted to abusive men, but its really all boils down to being a choice, subconscious one but one nonetheless

it will take will power for them to change their thinking but it
can be done
