most men hate cats cause they like to cuddle and rub against you. They see this as being too feminist and it does not blend with their male ego. Women are so loving and just love cats cause the cat will come and cuddle against them and will show its appreciation to the woman when she holds it and pampers it.

Could be because a cat is considered more or a feminine pet so men automatically decide to stay away from them and choose the more masculine pet of a dog.
Cats are also usually very independant to maybe men want to feel needed more if even by a pet? Cats are so cute and dogs stink. Seriously a lot of women are more sensitive to their smell and to me they smell like fish (DOGS not women, lol)

I'm a man and I love cats. I have 2 that are 14 years old. One I found when I was on patrol as a Sheriff's deputy. My wife does not like cats. She does not hate them, she just prefers dogs. We also have a Yorkie.

Not all men hate cats and not all women love cats. It depends upon them. For me i love cats just playing them as moving toys. My husband also love cats just to watch our things away from rats.

Beacuse cats are sentimental and that pretty much describes a females personality and also women R catty so we feel like we can relate to cats more LOL. I myself love cats they are my favorite animals. Of course I am a female>
men are more masculine and like dogs,protectors like dogs and always got their eyes on a 'B****'s behind. LoL I am just playing don't take that personal men.

Well, cats don't want to play and be rowdy as much as dogs do. Guys want a play-friend in their animals. Women need their space like cats do.

Personally, I've always suspected- that guys tended to like dogs over cats- because dogs are more submissive & loyal to them than cats are. While women like cats- for their independence, & boundless curiousity (By the way, I'm a guy who prefers cats- so go figure!).

I think that men don't get along well with cats because most men are self-centered, and want to be adored, and cats don't do adoration! I think in the same vein that women like cats because cats ARE independent. Most women have plenty of people depending on them already, so it's a nice change to have something - even a cat - in their lives that doesn't have to be told where his car keys are, or how to get dressed.
