I do! And I am so obvious about it because my front window is sometimes open and I have the tv on. When I see someone who remotely looks like a jehovas witness, I run! I know they know someone's home, but I still don't answer the door! Am I bad?

All you have to do is open the door, and tell them no thanks. This is what I do, it works.

There's not enough information in this question to determine if the questioner is "bad", but she certainly seems silly. A householder who doesn't wish to speak with a visitor can simply answer the door, says she isn't interested, and gently close the door. This will work to save time, effort, and confusion for herself and her would-be visitors.

A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to get a householder to "change his mind". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!

That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.

(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

I am a Witness of Jehovah whom the Jehovah's Witnesses have harassed and rejected and persecuted because I and another sister have the gift of prophecy from the holy spirit.

The Jehovah's Witness Leaders, the governing body at Bethel, in New York City, do not believe the Bible when it says in Acts 2, that God will pour out his spirit in the last days, ( this time period, ..not the 1st century) and women will prophesy and men will dream dreams, and see visions, and that God will give portents in heaven above and signs on earth below, blood, fire and smoke mist.

They teach that none of the gifts of the spirit are coming back to anointed Christians before Armageddon. Hmmm...so how can they claim to be prophets? Hmmm...

So, anyway, they do not come to my door, as they think my gift of prophecy is from the devil...hmmm...that is the unforgivable sin; blasphemy of the holy spirit.....hmmmm....well, God gives us freedom of choice, to believe the Bible or not.

Actually, everyone should worship Jehovah in spirit and TRUTH.

In Revelation 2 and 3 it shows that Jesus is examining all the *Christian* denominations, and has warned them to repent of certain things, and also commended many in each denomination for faithfulness.

Soon this denominational mess will be cleared up and God's chosen ELIJAH will take the lead after the great tribulation.,

Malachi 4:5,6 Look! I (GOD) am sending to you people Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and fear-inspiring day of YHWH/Jehovah. And he must turn the heart of fathers back toward sons, and the heart of sons back toward father; in order that I may not come and actually strike the earth with a devoting of it to destruction.

Praise Jehovah the God of the Universe!!

Hail earth's new King of the Universe, Jesus!!

Welcome his angel wife the Queen of the Universe!!

Honor the chosen Elijah....(see my 360 Page, for who God has chosen, yes a sinner..in his wisdom he has done this)

***Please notice that SOME of my anointed views are not accepted by the leading men of Jehovah's Witnesses, ....who have not repented from some false teachings and secret sins.***********

For example they do not believe in female spirits/angels, or Elijah coming..or that Jesus recently ( year 2000) became King, not 1914..or the gifts of the spirit coming in these last days, or that I am one of the 2 prophets of Rev. 11, as they say 8 of them were the 2 prophets in 1918..or that any or the 6 other denominations in Rev. 2 and 3. have any faithful ones, even though Jesus said they do..or that the great tribulation will not end as Armageddon..or that it is they who will be crying 'peace,' when the *cry arose in the middle of the night, to MEET the bridegroom,* Matthew 25:6..*a 40 day warning/greeting prophecy*...instead of the political leaders. saying "PEACE"......

I do not suggest that anyone hide from Jehovah's Witnesses or Mormon's. Sharing Scripture is a wonderful way to help Jesus do his judging.

Are you bad? I do not know you. If you want to worship God, read the Bible, pray for guidance..everyone asking receives.

LOL,
I don't - I just come to the door with the truth and before they can ask me to read the Watchtower I ask them to read my husband's article called "Who is Jesus?" They usually bid me a nice day and go on their way.

I do remember however, when I was a child, my mom used to make us all hide behind the couch when the JW's came to the door - brings back some funny memories- I am sure that many times they knew we were there!

What's even more rewarding is when you invite them in and refute everything they say. You can tell by the look in their eyes whether they are open to ideas and you've actually planted a seed of doubt, or if they fanatically believe in their religion.

One of my favorite rebuttals is, when they say theirs is the one true religion, to say Jesus was a Jew, not a Jehovah's Witness. I go on to tell them that I believe in reincarnation. I tell them if we are to achieve perfection in order to be one with God, we cannot achieve it in one lifetime and I believe in reincarnation. They immediately look at me with disdain and say, "You mean you believe you'll be born into the body of an animal?" My response is "No. That's impossible. What is possible is that we are born again and again into human bodies until we have learned all the lessons we come here to learn so we can perfect ourselves and become one with God."

Then I really get on a roll and tell them Jesus would not approve of their trying to claim they are the one true religion when Jesus didn't teach that, and God didn't either. In fact, great teachers were born throughout the world to bring God's message to people and anyone who claims to have the one true religion is being dishonest because Jesus did not say people of other faiths would be condemend to a life in Hell. Then I ask them why they believe the way they do. Is it because they were born into the religion? Have they explored other religions? Do they believe it when Jesus said a man would do better to enter a closet and pray in solitude than to pray in public?

Anyway, it makes for interesting debate, but if I see men coming to the door I definitely don't answer it - who knows who they really are?

No way do I hide from those people. I took an old book and printed a cover for it that reads "Satanic Bible". When they come to the door, I grab my Moby Dick book oops I mean my Satanic Bible and greet them at the door. I make sure I am holding it so they can clearly read the cover. They never stay long enough for me to get the Watch Tower.

Oh and it never hurts to hit them up for a few bucks because you broke your crack pipe and need to get another one.

No, I just tell them to get lost. If it's women, I may tell them that Moses' god is Yahweh, not Jehovah. If it's men who are too persistent, I pick one up in each hand and toss them down the hall. Some ladies who were JW's came to my aunt's while I was visiting. She lets anyone in. I just showed that everything they said was nonsense. They didn't stay long.

Pamela N,
I guess that's effective.

What I try to do is arm myself with the word of God. And if I do badly with them, I get mad at myself and study the word more. The word of God is useable to dispel their ability to confuse you. There has been a time when I had them walk away from me, twice if I remember right.

No, it's ok, they're a pretty wacky cult whose higher ups are guilty of some fairly immoral things. My family knows firsthand. Your concience should be clear.

They must be used to it by now, don't worry about it. I invite them in, start asking them questions. They always just leave me a comic book and tell me they're coming back later - but they never do!
