A smile and "Hello" or "Hi, Isn't this great?' or other inane, positive remark, like "Wow You are great at this!" ..
The catch is, You have to mean it, it has to be true, and it mustn't really require a response. And It can't be about you, and you should be ready for "What?" , or more likely the "I know damn well this fool isn't talking to me, I'll just pretend he isn't there" routine. When this happens, you must act as if you do indeed, know, that you are, in fact, completely invisible. Then pretend to be enjoying the band, or getting a call, or spotting someone "over there" to talk to.
Don't drink, smoke, or anything else to "fit in".
If she smiles, agrees with you, or says anything more than "yes" or "no", you just might have "broke the ice".
Take my advice, I'm not using it anyways.

You are 21. You learned nothing about talking with girls while in high school? My guess is that emotionally you are still a 16-year old with tons of insecurities. You can't start a conversation because you have nothing to say. Conversations happen naturally, based upon what is going on in front of you at the time. You make eye contact and say hello and make a statement: "I think that guy is carrying a concealed weapon and we should get out of here, what do you think?" If she acknowledges the weapon thing and expresses concern, ask her if she wants to flee to safety, say your bedroom.

maybe make a quick eye contact with one you like (but do not stare at her.) and maybe she will come over and start the conversation. But if you want to make the first conversation start with hi (put name) how are you doing today. then the conversation should go on. and just be yourself. and just talk about class if the girl is in your class too.
well good luck hope this helps.

Find out what you have in common and run with it. Girls love a guy that likes the same things she does. A lot of girls don't take compliments very well so stick to common ground. Throw in a couple things that pertain to how nice she looks or how you love when she smiles.

i have the same prob with guys. what i would do if i were u is find her off by herself and introduce myself. That way i get a one-on-one conversation. it's easier w/o a lot of people. she will also (probly) be more willing to come out of her shell.
hope this helps, even if a little.

What you need to do first and foremost is to relax. Don't overthink talking to a woman. Go up to one and do it. Here is your homework from the davester. I want you to go up to at least 10 women and talk them. Even if it is nothing more than saying hi to them. You don't have to necessarily have to be attracted to them. The more women you talk to, the more comfortable you will be around them.
Besides, what is the worst thing she will do? Beat you up? Stick her nose up at you. If she doesn't want to have anything to do with you, what did you lose? Alpha dog flirts with all the ladies.
