Why would either have to defend his faith?

Most Hindus do not speak Sanskrit. Sanskrit is still chanted during certain rituals, but all the sacred texts of Hinduism (though written in Sanskrit originally) have all been translated into various other languages (which they have always done...since there are 325 languages in India alone afterall so you'd have to do some translating anyways). It is usually recommended that a Hindu study Sanskrit and Tamil (those are the two sacred languages that most of the sacred texts are written in), but it is just so a Hindu can get a deeper understanding of the teachings contained in them (but of course if you don't have a teacher there to explain the symbolism in the texts and the cultural aspects, etc, then you still won't understand the deeper meanings). And the same is true for Muslims. All of the Muslim friends I have don't speak Arabic and may only know a few words in Arabic (just as I, a Hindu, only know some Sanskrit words and phrases). The Koran has been translated into numerous languages.

Most Hindus and Muslims speak to each other just fine in whatever language is native to the region/nation where they live.

How will they defend their faith?
The word defend implies that one must protect their faith because it is under attack. A person merely seeking to understanding a person's faith and beliefs is not attacking it. One doesn't need to speak the "sacred languages" of the religion in order to share one's faith and beliefs with someone. And there is no need to defend because both can agree to be respectful and tolerant of each other's beliefs and practices. Thus the best way to "defend" one's faith is to practice it.

If Jesus was a Hebrew and lets say....if a Christian does not speak Hebrew, how does he/she communicate with another person? How will they defend their faith? In whatever language is understable by both parties, same as for Muslims and Hindus. If you were to ask me a question on Hinduism now (I'm a Hindu), I would not be trying to answer you in Sanskrit.

Well if a Christian can defend his religion without knowing hebrew ,where none of the words in hebrew atleast resembleor match the words in english and languages of most biblical countries,
than for a hindu and muslim its very easy to defend as 50 -60% of any language in India has sanskrit words so a careful split will make him understand and defend and the same is the case with muslim .

Alas the people of christ is left alone ...reason ....he has not taught atleast some hebrew for them to understand and they had to go for translations in their languages.
so we hindus and muslims are well positioned.

People can defend their faith in the languages they able to communicate. This is sheer stupidity to think that Muslims have to know Arabic or Hindus have to know Sanskrit to defend.......

Speak in their own language or the international language of english.....you don't have know Arabic to be a muslim, Islam is for all people and all races, if you don't speak arabic you should not be isolated from the faith (except in prayers for the "key" you need to speak some put you can just memorise it)

go to a school where they teach these languages and learn both of the languages so you would both know the languages.

Speak in Hindi or English.

They can defend their faith by learning both religions. A Muslim has to respect other religions.

firstly Hinduism is not a faith, it is a way of life {to reach the highest goal of life, self realisation[ who am I ? where from I came ? where do I go after death?? ]}.
religion is realisation. No need to defend or argue.
well language is not a must to practise and realise the Truth. Hindu way of life is known to every child born and its literature is available in all languages including English.

Well Pakistanis and Indians can speak Urdu/Hindi and they both understand both pretty well, so they can speak that. They are both very similar languages. Also, almost everyone can speak some English now a days.

Cheerio!
