He often commented that the love of animals and the cause of conservation was as he put it "Gods purpose for putting him on this earth".... if he were atheist he would never make such a comment in private much less on tv for millions of viewers to witness. He also made several comments about his mother after her death in a car accident being in heaven. Again not a comment an atheist would even consider.
