what were yhour initial perceptions of the situation , what experiences had you undergone

for me that would be going to boarding school in the UK at age 13. most people would think that boarding school might be strict, but for me it meant a lot of freedom. I started to look at things differently. I met kids who were mean; there was racism and bullying like you'd expect in the army. it toughened me up.

also i've had so many changes and new directions in my life. I take the motto 'reject everything, start anew' like what the zen masters might say. even now that i'm quite settled, i still tend to reject things. i tend to be highly skeptical and i question everything.

When 3 fails to agree with 4, I step away and try and take an unemotional view.

In the end, it is a balance between my gut and my mind.
