Depends on the age of the couple, the length of the relationship, the reasons for calling.....
Just in general, I'd say no more than 3.

When I was dating I would call my G/F twice per day, Once in the Morning and Once in the Evening before She went to bed.
I would never call in between, if you call more they will get sick of you calling too much.
I would call to say "Good Morning" and again to say "Good Night"
Of course there was plenty of banter in the calls.
This is the best way to do it, then your boy/girlfriend will not get mad for calling all the time and will look forward to your calls in the morning and evening only.

as many as you can! As long as it won't bother them or disturb their work or studies or whatever their tasks for that day. Just make sure that you are not bugging them. It always feels good to receive a call from someone you love, just make sure to be sensitive to the person on the other line.

I wouldn't call them at work. I would be considerate to try and discuss the best times to call. Actually, two tmes a day is enough if you are teenagers. If you are an adult, then do what you both want to do.

once a day is more than enough. i'd prefer every other day calls from a serious bf. any more than that and you risk running out of things to say aka reasons to stay.

About 300 - 400 times , howether try to to call too much or you will come across as needy .

personally between us each calling each other, I lose track. Like all the time. We are inspertable. But if one of us needs space, the other will give it. But you don't often want space and it never lasts long

Keep it to a minimum. And don't call and not have something to say. Never ask, "So whatcha doing?" Uhm...working?! If you make the effort to call, make the effort to have something to say.

as many times as you want. i think its cute to call them just to hear their voice or tell them you love 'em. Just make sure they dont get annoyed. if they stop answering their phone, thats a good sign to stop :D

I truly believe only twice is enough. anymore is way too much. so break it up once in the morning and once before bed.
