The USA press makes is seem like the only things Islamic people do is work and religion. What else do you do? The press makes it seem like all you live for is your religion and that you are always mad as the USA for not respecting your religion.

True muslims are content with life even in despair. The people of Aceh have shown this to the world. True muslims are content with what God has given and that what God has planned is His divine right.

The West has separated private life, politics and religion in a revolution centuries ago. This process separates the church from the politics of a nation. The Vatican lost power in that instance.

You see for muslims, Islam is a way of life. It is not an idealogy such as democracy that you can ammend and rewrite. That is why when you want to have democracy in Iraq, local people don't understand because it is an alien way of thinking. Democracy never came up in Iraq because there was never a NEED for it.

We don't hate any Country per se. It is your foreign policy and especially its protection of Israel against so many UN resolutions and Geneva conventions that drives us up the wall. Plus we expect the Americans to actually tell your politicians that we are not happy. But when they don't make a change in leadership, it means the American people accepts him as your leader and represents what you believe in.

Everytime you guys go for an election we hope and pray very hard that the Americans would chose wisely. We still do and we will keep doing it.

I am not a muslim, but I have seen some great stage shows, heard really good music (lebanese and Syrian) and locally in North America the same sorts of family stuff and normal hell raising as everybody else, although lately they tend not to go out as much or be as loud because they are much more afraid of the police and the redneck racism that is so popular now.

And those who say they are muslims and that Muslims don't Screw Around with each others Spouses or Indulge in Drugs or chemicals are just like the church ladies of america. the people do the same **** the world over and if there is a rule against, it is not because nobody does it.

GREAT question - thanks for asking. To the Muslims who answered truthfully and respectively, thank you for stating what is so obvious to you, but a lesson for many of us not of your belief system. History is filled with stories of radical Christians leading their cause based on their beliefs so it's easy to understand that other religions equally have their radical groups. I do not understand all the religions and I will never say one is right and another is wrong. What I can do is think and keep an open heart and choose what to believe in. I'm thankful to be an American and that I have the choice TO choose. I am allowed and encouraged to question and seek knowledge to make that choice. For me, it's not about the lifestyle or way of life, but the relationship I have with a living God. As each marriage is different, I don't expect my intimacy with God to be the same as anyone else's. It's OUR relationship - how He leads, my choice to follow, the lesson and love within the consequence that continues to nurture the relationship. I find it an oddity when someone calls me "religious" because I do not see myself as one following a prescribed set of required activities to prove my faith. My growth is within my own heart and my expression is multi-faceted. If we are God's children and he allows us to be parents then we have some of his attributes. I may smile when I see my child following rules and regulations and conforming in socially acceptable ways, but at the end of the day it's my relationship with my child that matters. Perhaps it takes "religion" to get TO the relationship. Hopefully, when it's all said and done, it won't matter how I arrived, just that I'm there and the relationship stands. Just thoughts - respectfully submitted.

Are you serious?

Depends on what your definition of 'fun' is.

If its drinking, drugging and having sex and orgies, then no, we don't have fun. We're the most boring people on earth.

If its having intelligent conversation, travelling, jogging, cycling, cooking, eating out, meeting up with old friends, paragliding, snow boarding, skateboarding, jet skiing, bungee jumping, backpacking and meeting new people, then yeah, we have lots of fun.

We do all this while still being loyal to Islam as Islam is central to our lives, our very way of life.

We are not mad at the USA people for having a difference of opinion. What the USA media shows you is very different to the carnage the USA government wreaks in your name.

Peace.

In every culture there are those few that will die for what they believe (terrorists). In the grand scheme of things, they are just a very small part of the whole group. It is unfair to class a whole group according to a few of its members. I am not Muslim, nor do I want to be, but they are just people. Just like you or I, they each have individual personalities, like different things, have different hobbies. Would it be fair to say "What do Americans do for fun?" No. There are so many Americans and they do so many different things. The media knows exactly how to create stereotypes.

Islam Teaches a complete "code of conduct" for a life of a Muslim, its not just a religion , yaps we Muslim's have fun and enjoyments too in our life, the main thing is our combined family system which is still alive and the chief source of our enjoyment, except this we have our religious occasions too i.e. EID, but one thing is most important and a fact of life that enjoyment should always be in a limit other wise it makes your life dull........

'Fun' in islam is diffrent from 'fun' in other religions yeah sure we go to visit each other (freinds-reletives) we go to the mosque for friday prayers my freinds and I go to the mall we take our kids to the park we go on picnics- we live regular lives like every other American but the only difference is that whatever we do and no matter where we go we always remember god.

We get up early in the morning to pray then in the afternoon (before or after lunch) then after sunset we have prayers for one last time in that day I know it sound like its a long process but it isn't praying only takes 5min average for each set of prayers but the shortness or longness of it depends on the person. And everthing we start we say "bis'millah" which means in english "in the name of god".

Also we have ramadan coming up next week so every muslim will begin fasting from before the sun rises till the sun sets. We get up early in the morning before sun rise we eat kind of like an early breakfast its called sa'hoor and in the evening when the sun goes down we eat and break our fasting with what we call fo'toor we usually break our fast with a peiece of date and some water then we eat a full meal. Women who have their menstral periods cannot fast or pray. In ramadan reading or listening to the quran is a must because the holy Quran was sent to the prophet Mohammad in the month of ramadan. We don't have time in our lives to sit and just hate america are you kidding?

It's the media who has Muslims under a microscope what you see on TV is toatally different form the reality that we muslims live in each day when i see the news I just get so frustrated not all muslims are terriosts and not all muslims go for the gun when they get threatend. here's a link that you can read about the so called 'media'.......

We hang out... Drink coffee, smoke, chat...
My culture have parties, only among ladies and we dance all night long. Men have such activities too... Islam does not forbid from socializing and entertainment as long as its within means and doesn't make you forget why you're on this earth. That's why there's no alcohol... just so that you keep a clear mind and don't go overboard.

Oh, I'm also blessed with a hardworking husband that is generous. I love shopping. In the afternoons I'll take my lil girl to the park and walks along the beach. I love my life, and I love Allah forblessing me with it.

When your perception of something is based on what others are feeding you, you'll tend to stick to that idology and narrow your own opinion on things.
