Can man live without faith?
Nope-- One must believe;
The clock is correct.
The car Willl start.
The traffic will let me survive.
I will live for the next few days.
Doctors can and wil help me.
Everyone must have FAITH to be normal and survive.

Faith is a natural reaction I experience, like kicking my knee when the doctor hits it, or sneezing when I get dust in my nose. Faith is believing in good luck or any other supernatural phenomena. Faith happens, but I've realized it doesn't mean anything. So, I live attempting to ignore faith in word and deed.
Is faithlessness immoral? Nope! Immorality happens just as often when one is supposedly religious, or in the name of God. Further, atheists and other non-spriritual people can base morality on other principles that don't need a god, such as utilitarianism or Kantian philosophy. I can decide to save someone's life because it's the right thing to do from a Kantian perspective, not because God says I should.
Is faithlessness inherently nihilistic, or put another way, is life meaningless without faith? Again no! Personally, I am atheist and I feel pretty happy, probably more optimistic than most, so in my case the evidence contradicts your theory. Anyway, when I feel down, I don't need a religion to comfort me, I find comfort in the charity I do and in the company of my friends and family. Also, just because my body will die and that's that doesn't mean I won't become immortal through stories of my heroism, etc., so there is a sort of life after death to strive for in the real world.

I don't need any superstitious claptrap to enjoy life and live by high moral and ethical standards. The best reason to do the right thing is because it *is* right, not for some reward in a make-believe 'afterlife'. This ought not be a deal or transaction. The reward for doing what is right is here and now.
Why do you despair of not being proud of a life well lived when it terminates? There is nothing shameful about being truthful and honest about the nature of existence.
Truth is more important than 'faith' any day.

You live without faith by realizing that religion is simply someones set of morals put into a story. All are human ideas of goodness and I dont need a peice of fiction to tell me how I should live my life. I dont have faith in god, I beleive in the strength of the human mind. There is something to be said for being able to make your own decisions in life which makes your LIFE more fulfilling, unlike many who live life in fear of death, I live life looking for further bettering my time LIVING. I do not think there is an afterlife and it doesnt scare me... because there is no pain, no great peace, just nothing. And come on, what is so great about heaven anyways, its like going to church for eternity...
P.S. I also think Immanuel Kant was a prick

People go to college and have careers because they want to have a better LIFE not AFTERLIFE I have never heard anyone say "I went to college and started this great career because I thought I'd go to 'heaven' for it". Your statement is ridiculous, and I don't want or need your pity. My life is fine as it is, I live a completely moral life, I don't steal, I don't kill unlike many theists. Do you know that most of the immorality in this country is practiced by people who believe in "god"? So where is their morality? The difference between me and them is that I have my own morals and ethics to answer to, I respect my parents and grandparents and wouldn't want to make them look bad by doing something like that. Isn't that a cornerstone of your faith? Or do most people just ignore that part?
I feel pity for you, that you need an imaginary father to tell you how to live your life for fear of what will happen to you in death.

How can any people live without faith?
How a child can survive if he has no faith in his parents?
How can a pupil make any improvement if he has no faith in his teachers?
How can a citizen fulfil his duty if he has no faith in the country's authority?
How can a soul make his journey through the spiritual worlds of God without faith in His Divine Messengers?
In our childhood we must have blind faith in our parents or our closest relatives, who love us the most. When our brains start working, we place our faith on people who are pure, loving and wise. We must learn the criteria for our recognition of purity, love and wisdom; otherwise we may fall into the danger of forgery.
We cannot judge other people whether they have blind or rational faith, we can judge only our individual self. And usually we regret so much for our ignorance, because most of us don't know how and don't want to develop our rational sense. And on thinking about this, we are very grateful to the One True God for successively sending His Messengers here to train us on all aspects of our souls. We can only trust God and trust other people fully when we become pure, loving and wise ourself.

Can someone live a good happy life without faith in God? Yes, absolutely. I am a truely happy person, I have a good life and a wonderful family. I'm a good person with morals and values. I have strong opinions and the strength to fight for them, but the humility to say when I'm wrong. I do not believe in God. Can someone live without faith in ANYTHING? Well, that's another question, and one I don't feel qualified to answer.

Faith is a word that influences many application in many aspects of our life... not just in our spiritual realm. Your question... can a man live without faith? The answer is..."NO!" Faith is used by every human every day... we go to sleep at night with "faith" that we will wake up in the morning. We drive our cars and make left turns with "faith" that the oncoming car will obey the laws and not slam into our car... we have "faith" that we can walk across the street without being hit. The surgeon has "faith" that his/her hands will be able to fulfill a task without fault and detrement to the patient. We have "faith" that when we flip a switch, our lights will turn on. Just think of all the tasks that you do every day without PROOF that the tasks will be completed correctly without knowing for sure before we do them. Faith is a quality that you cannot feel, see, smell, hear, taste or have knowledge with our physical senses. It is like electricity... Faith is a quality that we use every day... but has only reality in our mind... like KNOWLEDGE. All these things, knowledge, faith, truth, love... and many more qualities exist, but are what I deem... spiritual... in nature. So... if there are "spiritual qualities that permenate our human existence... then there must also be a spiritual reality where these qualities have their foundation and stem from. Being that... then we must be able to connect to that spiritual reality and tap into these qualities in this life...So is there an eternity and life after death? Do these spiritual qualities stop to exist and leave the reality of our world at death... NO as neither does our minds... that make up our souls... We go on into another level of reality and continue our progression... that is what religions have labeled..."heaven." So be at peace... in this life you have the ingredients of a spiritual nature blended into your human nature and it is your task to develop your spiritual nature while living in your physical human realm... After all... why not... as the boy scouts say... "Be Prepared!" just in case!
As for a rational religion... I am afraid that mankind has really screwed up in that field... Just know that God the Father is real, and that He is your creator of your spiritual nature... and your parents are successful into the creation of your physical nature. So you respect your parents (I hope) and you give adoration to God the Father also... That is all... Hope this helps... Good luck!

I live perfectly happily without faith, and I don't need the pity of ignorant superstitious people like you. I suppose you think there is an afterlife, but just for humans. How can you justify that? Chimpanzees don't get to go? They are our damn close cousins. Anyway if there is a heaven it's for dogs. As far as I can tell they are the only ones deserving it.

You need to go spend a day at the beach, or catch a good movie.
Your question is like an exercise in Minutia! Or a small dog catching its tail, my head is throbbing.
Blind Faith was a great band though, rocks' first super group.
Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Ginger Baker and Rick Grech, I think his name was. Too bad they didn't last too long!

All humans live by faith. What assurance do you have that the chair you sit on now will not collapse on you except faith in the durability of the chair and of the workmanship of the maker? It is from this that faith can be said to be blind (I'd rather say that it is taken for granted), but the way we live now requires faith even in a subconscious level.
With regards to faith, it is not the amount of faith that matters, but to whom (or what) we place our faith on.
For instance, a man can place all his faith on a bridge that he crosses, but if it should collapse, is his faith at fault? Likewise, if a man has no faith in the bridge he crosses, but it holds him up until he crosses it, did his lack of faith affect the bridge?
Thus, while one's strong or weak faith is one thing, the more important thing would be on what or whom this faith is placed on.
