Give her time, I have 4 ferals, they are great, though one is still really scared and I have had her for quite a number of years, some just don't seem to come around, but your's will be ok it sounds, just be patient. She probably has to get used the other people around her, she will be fine.

Aww. That's so sweet of you. Good for you for helping take care of a kitten.

Just be patient. I had a kitten that hated people. I walked into a room with about 15 cats and kittens. The one I chose was the meanest of the bunch and the guy that had them (a total redneck) didn't like the one I chose. He advised against me taking her because she attacked and hissed at all the other ones and people.

I never had a cat before, but wanted to take care of something. I remember being scared of that little kitten as it just crawled into the corner of the room and stared at me while I slept, frightened to death---it growled a lot. I was patient with her and was soothing when I spoke with her.

Eventually she was the sweetest cat I've ever had. She was loving and loved grooming another cat that I eventually got. She loved people too.

Just be patient. You have to establish trust with her so she knows you're there to care for her and not hurt her. She doesn't know what to think of her world now since everything's different than what she's used to in the wild. Just be loving and patient to her, and she'll notice and she'll be greatful. She'll come around.

We've taken in a few ferals over the last 15 years. The shortest time was a day & our longest took over 6 years. Be patient.

I agree with everone else here, patience is necessary with the lil wild ones. My Bob was taken in when he was a kitten and he was evil..lots of scratching and hissing lol but how could I hate such a cutie?? He is still doesn't like to be picked up much, and sometimes if I or anyonelse look him in the eye he gets spooked, so just pretend you don't see her and I bet she will get more comfortable around you. One thing all my cats love is brush time and as soon as the brush is out they all want to be brushed, so I would incorperate that in fuss time on your lap, she'll be more calm and purring in no time.

Our kittens were feral too....and they eventually warmed up to everyone, but we do have a couple cats who are still " scaredy cats " the one will run away from everyone until it wants to come to you. Cats, like people, have different personalities and maybe your's is just a shy cat.

I have had my cat for 16 years and it still will not come around me, or anyone much.

Only when she wants to or when I call her name and say bug. Well, she will usually come when she hears the can opener or when I open a bag of chips too.

She likes to catch those big mosquito looking bugs in season in the summer.

She just needs some time to get used to being around humans. She needs to feel comfortible and safe, and this will require a lot of patience. But the best thing you can do for her is just give her tons of TLC.

She may stay like that...try to expose her to people and make sure they don't try to scare her. She may feel more secure later when she gets older. She is still yough so give her time.
