i have had this sore throat for 3-4 weeks sometimes it gets worse and sometimes i think its going away but then it just hurts worse, i do smoke but this has never happened before could it be just sinuses, can anyone help or relate?

Its possible that you're doing something like sleeping with your mouth open and making the throat sore each day, but more likely you have an infection that needs attention.
Get it checked out immediately. If its strep throat and you don't get it treated it could become very, very, very, serious. If you can rule out strep, great. Just don't wait any longer.
(I knew a 19-year-old girl who let a strep throat go. It turned into rheumatic fever, which turned into heart disease, which turned into heart attacks and strokes and circulatory problems, which turned into brain damage. She spent eleven years having one health disaster after another until she died at 31. I know this is unpleasant, but people need to realize how serious a strep throat can be.)

Sounds like a bad case of strep throat. Go see a doctor right away and get on some antibiotics. Is it a concern? Yes, aside from the pain, it can still get worse.

And you probably do have a sinus infection. I wouldn't rule that out. Which in that case Some Amoxicillian and Clartin will be the cure.

go see the doctor strep throat mabey if u are healthy otherwise.. had a sore throat for weeks it suxx i know..i was afraid i had everything in the book i took all the tests including aids hep etc..itturned out to be nothing not even medication..so dont panic til u see doc..

No ill ness should go for 3 weeks with out follow up
Could be strep, or just seasonal allergies have a check up. Don't rule out STD.

Yes, any sore-thoaut that lasts more then two days should be checked! sounds like strep!
