Well it's medium right now, but I want to grow it long - my bangs are just below my eyes right now, and eventually I want them to my mouth.
Do I have to do any special things to it along the way, or just wait for it to grow? Because it's starting to get bulky and stuff... so what do I say to the hairdresser? I don't want any cut off, though, because I don't have any split ends.

EDIT: Just to make things clear, I am not trying to make it grow faster. I just want to know how to actually grow it from medium to long. It's getting bulky...
What do you say to the hairdresser to get rid of all that bulk but not actually cut anything off of the length?

Do you just want long bangs, or do you want hair like Rapunzel, the fairy tale girl?
Your hair should be able to grow at least 1 cm per month.
Make a small sacrifice now; then be patient. How? Ask your hairdresser to give you a new look - a very neat, medium-length cut, something that would look neat with little or no styling. Flip through hair magazines (not just fashion mags) for ideas.
Then wait patiently for a month, ask your hairdresser to give you a ‘trim’ but try not to affect the length – and if possible, avoid cutting the areas that you want to grow long. If your hairdresser says it’s not possible, take her/ his advice.
Then, be even more patient and schedule the second hair appointment in six to eight weeks. While waiting, ask your stylist for a suitable styling agent (mouse, wax, gel etc.) to enable you to keep your hair ultra neat. You don’t want to get caught looking like an urchin while you wait for your hair to grow, now do you? LOL

When you go to the hair dresser, say you want to main the length but layer the side to get a less bulky look. You can also opt for a v-cut at your back so as hair grows it will actually look longer, try highlighting a bit to enhance the volume.

When you get a hair cut only cut off the split ends, then wait.

I have really long hair (past my waist) and I keep my hair well conditioned, keep the ends trimmed (so you have no breakage), massage scalp or brush often (stimulating the scalp makes hair grow quicker), and don't color or perm your hair (the damage will slow growth)! Vitamins will really help too, especially prenatal vitamins (they will make your hair and nails grow like crazy)!
