No one understands everything the first time, meaning you have to ask what it means, like you. And if you are afraid to ask what something means, you are afraid of learning what it means. Unlike you.

People might be afraid to ask questions because it means admitting that they don't know something & may make them feel foolish or embarassed but that's the only way to learn. Asking questions is how you learn & it's nothing to be ashamed of.

Don't be afraid to ask because your shame of letting other people know of your ignorance affects what you're about to find out. You'll get nothing by keeping quiet. You're also "ashamed of learning" -in public.

What this means (or at least, my interpretation of it) is that if you don't know something and are afraid to ask about it, you are ashamed to admit that you don't know what it was in the first place, and that you are embarrassed to have to display your ignorance by asking about it.

It means that the person is ashamed about not knowing about a particular matter.
It's as if you wouldn't want someone to think that you don't know much about something so you don't ask.

it means if you are scared to ask then you are probably a shy person and therefore your family is ashamed of you and in turn you projects your anger and denial upon learning ^.^
