From a Muslim: Ofcourse if you don't want to. religion is a personal thing and for personal interpretation don't let anyone make you feel bad or insufficient for how you choose to practice cause no one is perfect so if you have problems with the Bible its your choice (if you don't practice than this is your choice to in Islam as the can be no compulsion in religion). If you want a relationship with God that is the most important thing to a Muslim, in the Qur'an if you are not a Muslim but you have a relationship with God this is still considered good and Islamic for we consider people from Abraham down to be Isamic. But again its personal. (and i'm not saying that you are or must be Muslim.) For Muslims the Qur'an was put in place to iron out these contradictions and unfairness, for examlpe the Bible's unequal treatment on women...insisting they cover their hair or have it chopped off (Corinthians 11), women have to ask their husband or father to get and education and not being able to speak up, particuarly in church (Corinthians or Exodus can't remember), it's uncontrolled reign on polygomy (some Bible characters have wives in the hundreds, treating women as temptresses and the original sin...as well as the elevation of Jesus Christ to actually being God.....Perhaps because of the composition of Bible being so late after Jesus's true message by the Romans and the corruption that happened to the message.

I hear this everyday with muslims who try to tell me the bible is false without ever reading it.... I ask them to give me the one that bothers them the most and then I look at the verse and it is usually very easy to explain and is not a contradiction after all... many times by just reading the chapter it comes from.... so I ask you to do the same thing and we can go over it. The bible is the truth and you must accept it by faith even if you dont understand everypart of it. The bible is correct History and the prophesy has been fulfilled and is being fulfilled.... Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophesies. The flowers may fade but the word of the Lord stands forever.

I think you have to take the bible as the word of God. However some things in the bible were written specifically referring to the problem and time which they are written about. For instance in Corinth the women were to keep silent in the church. That was only referring to the problems of that day and not forever. Some people say that is why women are to keep silent but that is not a valid argument for today.

Well if you truly new ANYTHING about the Bible you would know that yes it is about God and God wanted it written, but it was WRITTEN by MAN. Man is full of their own opinions. It is like this one game we played in youth group. You have 20 people sit in a circle and have one person tell a story in the next persons ear. and so on. and so on. Until it gets to the last person and then ask that person what the story was about. It never matches the first persons story.

I have been reading the Bible now for over 40 years and I haven't found one contradiction yet. How about quoting some scriptures, so I can see what you are referring to.

Hey, the Bible has been criticized over hundreds and thousands of years. Guess what? IT STILL EXISTS. It has lasted longer than any other book, and I'm sure that it has inspired and brought many millions to the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the receiving of the Holy Spirit.
Even if YOU think God doesn't deserve to be worshipped, guess what? The Bible tells us that we are creatures of worship made for His pleasure.
I'm more than content with that. In fact, I await the day when my faith shall finally be sight, that I may enter the gates of Heaven with thanksgiving in my heart.
His Word is true.

I read that book. If I may correct you, it's the"101 Myths of the Bible". by Gary Greenberg. That book just boosted my belief that the Bible is a flawed, man-made book of nonsense and baloney sprinkled with some historical facts.

All that I know is that it really works for me. I have walked with Jesus and sought Him in His Word(the Bible) for over 30 years now, I have sought out the "full counsel of God" all these years. It has healed me emotionally and physically. It has carried me through divorce and the death of my father, and many other difficulties where I have become stronger and more whole.
