That's really hard to say, without alittle more information. Sometimes the sinus, when there is alot of pressure could bleed, and as you sleep drips down the back of your throat, when you wake up, and cough, you would find blood in the mucus. You should go to the doctors and have them check you out, They can do x-rays and be much more accurate than any of us.

mucous can have blood in it for little or no serious reason. you need more relationship to put anything into this.
if you want to just look at "things" which may present blood in mucous then look at necrotic diseases, copd, even some pneumonias, tb, and a host of others. excessive coughing can even produce blood in mucous. most likely it is nothing. but if you are experiencing other related symptoms then it can be a sign of something.

Based on the question, it could be anything, depending where this blood with mucus is coming from.

are you coughing it up?
sounds like an infection of the lungs. go to the doctor and get help
especially if its alot of blood.
