In about a month my girlfriend and I will be traveling to Florida with my girlfriend's mother because she is getting married on the beach. I want to propose to my girlfriend while we are on this trip one night on the beach. However, I want this to be very special and creative. I mean VERY creative. I don't mean just walking on the beach and dropping on one knee. I need ideas very badly because I want to make this perfect. I want to do something so amazing that noone has ever done before. Please be serious with this as it is a very important question that will impact the rest of my life. How would you want your man to propose to you on the beach. Remember I am looking for creative ways! Thank you all!

Dude. . . First of all congratualtions on finding miss right. . .. I have. . and I know how lucky you are. Now. . . to your dilema. DON'T GET ENGAGED ON THIS TRIP!!!! This trip is about your girlfriend's mother!! To get engaged at this time will take away from her wedding. . and her wedding will take away from your engagement!!! Also . . if her mother's marriage fails. . it will always be tied to your engagement. Wait for another time so it can just be YOUR day!

Get a large conch shell and place the ring inside .... Have your girlfriends mom place the shell on the beach for you as you and your girlfriend take a walk near dusk.. Make sure to put some glow in the dark paint on the shell so it's easy for you to find... When you and your girlfriend come upon the shell admire it and tell her that if she places the shell to your ear she can hear the ocean...
Kneel down and get the shell then hold it up so she can see the ring inside and ask her to marry you then you can tell her that your love is deeper than any ocean and you want her to always keep the shell to remind her of that love...

If money isn't a problem hire a sky sign (plane with a sig to fly along the beach at the appropriate time with a will you marry me sign..

Go out on the beach early in the day and collect a bunch of stones write will you marry me in the stones on the beach (above the tide line) later in the day take your girlfriend for a walk.. She will see the sign ... She will say oh someone proposed here and get very smily and giddy .. Thats when you drop down on one knee and say "No someone is proposing here now, Will you marry me"

You can still have a romantic evening/trip with her just follow every ones advise and do not propose yet, just think how she would feel on her wedding day and her friend got engaged too! yeah that's right LAND MINE KABOOM! and you know if you did that then she would feel kinda guilty for getting engaged while her mother was getting married etc. so if you really want this to be special then wait a while and plan to go to the beach again if that is where you want to propose at. I think it would be more romantic and less awkward. plus it will show her that your not just doing it in the moment that you have thought it through good luck and best wishes.

I would want you to propose to me on a different beach, on an occassion that would not take any focus from my mother's big event. That would be something creative for starters. This sounds like you are piggybacking off the trip to the wedding. Don't do that. Love in middle age is hard to find. If her mom has been so lucky don't steal a moment of her thunder.

Since the general consensus is that you don't propose on this trip, why don't you get some ideas while you are here in FL. Don't know what beach you are coming to, but there are alot of weddings on Clearwater Beach. You could check with some of the business on the beach for suggestions.
If you don't propose here now, you would have some ideas if you come back here, or to another beach to propose.

have something prearranged to "wash up on shore" or collect shells on your walk and hide the ring (or the question if you're worried about losing the ring -you'll need help from someone on this) So, you guys walk along, collect shells and enjoy the sunset. Then you have a picnic set up and have champagne (all the while she has been holding the ring (or note) without ever knowing.) When you are ready and the moment is exactly right dump the basket of shells on the blanket to take a closer look, pick them up, listen to the ocean whatever, and hopefully she will follow suit and find the right one!
She will LOVE that you preplanned this! She will LOVE that you suprised her and that you put such thought into this. She will LOVE to tell everyone her proposal story :)

I agree with a lot of the others. This day is about your girlfriends mother, not you guys. If you propose to your girlfriend on the same trip that her mother gets married on, it takes away from the mothers wedding. Plus, you guys should be able to have a special day that's just about you and your engagement. If you want something unique, maybe you could take her to see a movie that is going to be really packed. Arrange with the theater ahead of time to have "**your gf's name** will you marry me?" on the screen during the ads. That's unique! Or you could go to a fancy restaurant, (arrange ahead of time) and when you order dessert order something that they can spell out will you marry me? on it.

Get together some candles, maybe some light music, a pretty blanket, some yummy treats, wine?...go to the beach with her and bring her to the spot...sit and enjoy the food/drink and then walk a bit farther down the beach, and have written in the sand " will you marry me " That should go over well

have you thought about trying this: You will need someone to help you, to guard the setup while you go get her: put tea light candles on the beach spelling her name and marry me? have a bottle of champagne in a ice bucket there, or try just putting the tea light candles in a circle with the ice bucket in the middle, make pointers on the beach with white rocks showing the way to the spot? Tell her you wonder why they are there and you think you should follow them and see where they go? but remember to act very innocent t. for both of these you will need a relatively secluded spot and someone to help. hope it helps.

Dont propose that weekend, Its her mother's special event.
Looks like you are trying to kill two birds with one stone.Cheap, cheap.
Plan a trip to FL or elsewhere after the wedding. Think of an idea on your own.

I would want my bf to take me for a walk along the beach and there's rose petals on the ground leading to a special tent he set up for us with candles and dinner and the candles on the table are sitting in a hear shape and in the middle is the box with the ring....and i see it and turn around and he's on his knees getting ready to ask the big question.....then i say yes, we eat dinner and serenade each other, just enjoying one another's company.......
