Dog house help?

Question

I want to build my dog a dog house to prevent digging and anything else my mom may take it to the pound for how to convince her this is a good thing?

He hasnt dug yet because its the perfect weather right now but as soonas it does my mom's probly going to take it away

I just know dog houses prevent digging on cold days but how do make one if my mom doesnt want one

Ok, if the dog is outside it should always have a house to get out of the weather.
Is your dog a puppy? If so, then it may out grow the stage of digging. When in the puppy stage some dogs will dig alot and chew things up.
I have a dog that is 4 yrs. old, she only digs at certain times, this summer of course, because it was so hot and the ground is cooler under the 1st couple of layers. In the winter is opposite, the ground when dug a couple layers is warmer. My dog only digs when it is really hot. In the winter she usually stays in her house.I placed a few bricks under her house to keep it off the ground so the wood wouldn't rot. In the winter I fill the bottom with pine straw and cover the door with a plastic flap, by tacking it at the top and one side, this way she can get in and out but it helps to keep out cold air.
Ask your Mom if you can dig an area next to the dog house, not deep, just big enough for the dog to lay in, then when you see the dog digging, scold her and take her to that one spot where she is allowed to dig, it will take a lot of time, but it will catch on if you are persistent.

So does your Mom not want you to have the dog? Where does it stay in rainy weather? It has to have a house unless it stays inside.
If you can not convince her, instead of letting her take the dog to the pound, please try to find it a good home.

Building a dog house can be a little tricky, your best to buy one from your local petshop or market. If you give your dog a bone there very likely to dig a hole and hide it in there anyway. However if the dog does start diggin you just get any ordinary bottle milk bottle etc and fill it with water, plus it in the area that your dog has dug and that will teach them not to do it as their afraid of it. It works good if you dont want it to poop in a certain area as well... Goodluck and have fun with your new dog

The dog can be trained not to dig. A running area fenced, with a dog house would be best Place wire fence flat on the ground cover with four to six inches of dirt and enclose with fencing. The dog won't be able to dig.

i believe a dog house would be a great idea, you would have to have it well ventalated, so it can stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. my dog just likes to dig, i rather her do it in the winter with the snow than in the summer. i think you should go for it, and make your dog a nice place!!

if your dog just dig under the ground that doesnt meant its bad thing for any dogs . some dogs like to dig on the ground cuase if the dog keeped outside so all the time maybe your dog just doid that to keep his self cooler . my uncle dog did that and he didnt tooked her back to the dog pound . maybe your mom didnt know what the dog was doing . you can just tell her it all normal all dogs are like that to keep their self cooler if theyre feeling warm or hot .
