Democracy is how a government elect by many - tries to demo(nstrate auto)cracy once elected. It depends on the country in question. Each country has the option to decide how much ,where , when , why & how democracy is to be invoked upon its people. Here it's a free falling model where people, press can say anything believing that they are part of a democracy. Fools ! Little do they realize that they are just barking dogs and the real democrats up there pull their strings like puppets in a so called economic power house of an urbane city or the friendly neighbourhood village roadshow.
Now I wonder why a Q on Democracy figures in the Dog section ?
A - Democracy has truly gone to the Dogs liberally & literally

Democracy (literally meaning "rule by the people", from the Greek demos, "people," and kratos, "rule") is a form of government for a nation state, or for an organization. It expresses the sense that all citizens should have their voices heard equally, with no special advantage for one group. Today, democracy is often assumed to be liberal democracy, in which the rights of minorities are protected against attacks by the majority. While the term democracy is often used in the context of a political state, the principles are also applicable to other bodies, such as universities, labor unions, or civic organizations. Democracy as a concept has many important overlaps with, but is distinct from republicanism and liberalism. BUT IN INDIAN CONTEXT, YOU CAN FIGURE OUT THE DEFINITION OF DEMOCRACY YOURSELF.

The term democracy indicates a form of government where all the state's decisions are exercised directly or indirectly by a majority of its citizenry through a fair elective process. When these factors are met a government can be classified as such. This can apply to a multitude of government systems as these concepts transcend and often occur concomitantly with other types.

a true democracy is when all people in the state/city state rule themselvs by popular vote only. Now, thats differnt that when GWB gets up on tv and starts yelling about the United states democracy the type of goverment he is yelling about is really called a republic, where the people are ruled by elected officals rather then the popular vote. for the USA or any other nation/city/group of hobos to be a true democracic group they must vote on everything, and majority always wins right or wrong.

Well, I'm from the United States, so I have no idea. Seems like it was on tv once, but the reception was bad. Something about voting... every vote gets...no...every man's vote has...Sorry, I don't know. I don't know because I have never seen it in this country.
