Ha! One of my cats does the same thing! Sometimes I'll just ball up a tissue and put in there for him to watch it go down as it flushes. You know how cats like to chase string etc? I think it just has to do with them trying to get something that's getting away from them, in this case the water escaping down the drain.

hmm maybe your cat needed something to play with instead playing in the dirty water in the toilet ? you should buy some fun toys and have the cat enjoy playing the his new toys . or you can get a alive fish and put it a water tank and just watch what your cat going do with it . but dont let him eat it .

because they like fresh water,,,my Siamese cat does not like to drink the water from bowl..just from toilet..and I am not using any chemicals to the water tank,,this is normal for the cats,,,
