As Pete said you can make a difference.A lot of countries are starting to wake up a bit and are planting more trees but heaps more has to be done.Steve Irwin had thousands of trees planted.
We need more Steves in the world to fix the problem & to get onto our Governments & councils to do more

AS it is we are existing on only half the oxygen content that our ancient ancestors lived on according to the evidence of bore drilling of the ice caps . So it would be a good guess that unless we change our ways soon we will all die of the lack of oxygen. If we don't blow ourselves up in a war first.
And it would be our own fault not GODS as we all live and share this planet together . what effects one effects all.we have been warned enough times.

it is going to, like the abandoned, faded hills of the middle of nowhere, humanity will ultimately devolve (in accordance to scientists, approximately 3000 A.D.) and the earth will die sometime, how Serj Tankian's "Sky Is Over" and Nirvana's "Downer" describes it........of path, i might want to do something to help the planet, and that i nevertheless attempt to; i might want to help end worldwide Warming, to evade the inevitable way forward for mankind, yet i'm no optimist, i'm a cynicist and that i face this certainty. in case you do want to do something to help evade this, in spite of if, use much less potential (much less lights fixtures grew to become on and plugged on), power a automobile that's a minimum of gasoline effective or in simple terms walk, recycle, appreciate animals, and tutor others. I doubt worldwide Warming will shrink and die, in spite of if that's a noble combat, in spite of the fact that.

On a positve note at least YOU are aware, so do what helps you sleep at night cause thats all we have left.
