Im 20 years old and im attending college meaning for most of the day im around other "acedemics and scholars" ive just really begun to recognize that the "intelligent" people in this world don't believe in God, I consider myself to be intelligent in the way of science and such but im feeling like religion is begining to die. As we become more advanced science is begining to push out religion and religion isnt fighting back. I cant find a fellow religious follower who has anything intelligent to say in the face of science. Usually they just give some bible quote. Im starting to believe that the only people that are still in my religious boat are older generations who had religion driven into there minds and those who lack or refuse to accept the knowledge provided by science. I feel like the only scholar who actually thinks God exists. Is it time for me to just accept what seems to be so obvious to all the "smart people" out there.

I have a Master's Degree, and I don't have any conflict between my intellect and my belief in God. If anything, the more I study science, the more I am convinced that there is a Creator. Given the intricate balance that allows this planet to sustain life and the magnificent complicated mechanism that is the human form, I'd say that creation argues for the existence of a Creator.

Just because you believe in God doesn't mean that you have to park your intellectual skills outside the church door. I didn't and have no intention of ever doing so.

There are many academics and scholars who are also christian and possess brilliant minds and reasoning skills.

Think outside the square. A quote by Anatole France - If fifty million people say a foolish thing it is still a foolish thing.

Don't just go with the crowd or what appears to be popular opinion - test the claims of christianity yourself and make an informed decision. Christianity is certainly a faith that is intellectually satisfying and despite what many critics say you can have a faith based on facts if you are willing to educate yourself.

Kids these days (in our generation) have been socialized since birth regarding evolution, big bang et cetera. Almost like we were taught a double mind. Religion goes here. REAL LIFE goes here. Religion is repressive, REAL LIFE is expressive... I am sure you get it... Science is TRUTH, religion is fairy tails... "Science and Religion battle"...

Let me tell you something, science does not give meaning to life. It explains things in this world THAT WE CAN OBSERVE. If we can not observe it, we cannot explain it and remain ignorant of it. The true LIMIT of science is the HUMAN element. We are pretty finite, but arrogant as all get out. Science can't PROVE GOT because WE CANNOT SEE GOD. We have a vague recollection / stirring somewhere within us that pushes us to quench it, to fill the hole, BUT we are not sure what it is... Ergo, science says God AT BEST cannot be proven.... Also, it goes to my point below.

Plenty of atheists will respond to this and rail at me for what I am about to say... Most of them regurgitate answers. Stupidly at that. They have been beaten into the DOGMA of evolution. Because some jerky said it was true, they believe it. I will refer to David Hume, how can we know anything for certain? Oh, this fossil is from a proto human... How they hell do they know, it is a guess. That is all it is. A theory is a guess that can be demonstrated, except evolution can't be. Adaptation can be....

Anyway.

If you believe in God, then you also have to believe in Satan. Satan, it clearly states, wants to destroy the faith. For thousands of years Christians and the bible have been under fire. Amazing, they are still there. You don't see atheists railing against Islam, and Hinduism do you? Not like they do against Christians. Jimmy Swaggert gets caught with a chick and it is A HUGE DEAL... CLINTON does and who cares? Ever stop to think why YOU, ME, THE CHURCH are under such heavy attack? Satan. Laugh if you want, but look at the logical progression.... Cannot be denied... Why would Satan want science to prove anything or archeology to discover anything? It isn't naive. It is serious. In governmental psy-ops, one of the first thing they try to do is make people distrustful of the object (government, person, situation). Satan, the master of psy-ops...

St. Augustine said that we have FREEDOM OF THE WILL, but we do not have LIBERTY. Meaning, we are sullied by sin. OUR DESIRE is not for God, however WE DO HAVE ABILITY to make decisions outside our desires. So, your own will is suspect, because of sin. When you add that up, we are a target rich environment. "..Thus conscience makes cowards of us all."

The gist of it is, THE NATURAL MAN cannot choose God. We made our choice. WE HATE HIM. We are at war with him. But he has appointed us to mercy, so we are here. He has chosen you or you wouldn't BE ABLE to believe. Listen to www.ligonier.org they have some resources for free. It will help you answer your questions.

Esther was told, "...you were put in the kingdom for just such a time as this." And you also amigo.

I know how you feel. I was there not 5 years ago

P.S. One reason that people "quote the bible" is because when you read it, it IS the word. How can I put something better than the bible? It cannot be done.

P.P.S

Think for yourself... That is what many atheists will tell you. I think for myself... Thinking for ourself is what bloody well got us in this mess to begin with. Had Adam NOT thought for himself, me and you would be in paradise right now.

Don't let yourself be fooled by all the scientific data that you learn, and please don't let it make you question your faith.Don't be a follower of the majority, but a leader amongst the blessed few who believe and follow God. The intelligent people you speak of may be geniuses and such, but they are being fooled by the great deceiver,Satan, and their high I.Q's and vast scientific knowledge isn't going to mean squat on Judgement Day.
Keep the faith,Brother, and you shall reap the rewards.

It's time for you to choose what to do for yourself.

That's the main message of many "intelligent" people - THINK FOR YOURSELF.

That message doesn't go too well with the general message of most religions. And that's why many intelligent people have left religion.

To quote Bill Hicks, "The reason our religious institutions are crumbling is because they're no longer relevant."

first of all science is tiny as atom compare to God's knowledge...
can science measure the weight of the soul,
can science reveal the true power of love, can science save you from death.

if you say yes it means you believe in religion and you need God to reveal to you more the secrets in science.

i am not smart and i used science everyday but i prefer to have more wisdom from God to know him more and be with him soon...

God bless you my friend, trust Jesus Christ and sure all your question will be answer in simpliest way..

It is true that the higher education you have, the more chance you have of being an atheist. Atheism is especially prevalent in the scientific fields.

I believe your observation about those you work with is accurate.

I think that the more you learn about the world, the less need you have for superstitions.
