As a Catholic, I am ashamed of what he said. I believe the ramifications are just awful.

Yes, i think he overdid the thing. A public figure like him had no business to opine on other religions and he crossed the line. Though he has apologised and that should settle the matter

And with a identity like yours, i highly doubt you are catholic. Even the pope is fallible, besides, all he did was quote someone from 700 years ago, and I'm afraid that the muslims have proved his statement true once again. I'm just sad that he actually apologized. He should have told then to go f--- themselves.
