what is our problem is when you go to one of the main problems where illegals are coming from you see them hording our people that should be dead, or in jail. but instead they get to walk there lives all over mexico without a problem.

take a rapist that left the US and moved into mexico, he was there for quite some time, who caught him? not our government, not our FBI, it was are famous bounty hunter himself the "DOG". the point here is what happened once he caught this rapist of 86 charges covicted and a total of 87, he walked all over mexico planning revange on jury people, the people that testified, the people that caught him in the US.

Mexico did nothing, then the dog went over and finally brough justice or so we thought, once he caught him and was heading home, who decided to stick there nose in and then try to do something, our "friends" in mexico. the only thing they did was get in the way and also let the rapist go once more to do as he pleases. to be cont....

crimals should be brought to justice no matter who catches them and no matter where they commit the crime!

just think, what if the crime happened to you and the guy went to another country to hide, whouldnt you want justice regardless of where he ran?

Dog the Bounty Hunter Special appeared on A&E last night. Critics may dismiss his plight because they see his show as a novelty. But I say to you this is of great import because there are three men’s lives at stake. This certainly deserves the attention of the public and the US government.

I am so incensed at his arrest and possible extradition back to Mexico. The whole thing is disgusting.

Duane “Dog” Chapman’s life and the life of son Leland & brother Tim hang in the balance over a minor misdemeanor – the capture of Andrew Luster – notorious rapist now serving 124 year sentence in prison.

While in custody in a US federal detention facility, their lives were threatened by familiar faces and other inmates seeking revenge for his bounty hunting profession. The Mexican prison’s conditions would be worse and they would most likely not live to serve the 4 month to 4 year sentence that misdemeanor carries.

“…. Mexico routinely declines to extradite suspects facing life in prison or the death penalty. Mexico's Supreme Court, which favors rehabilitation and views capital punishment and no-parole sentences as cruel, has blocked numerous extraditions until U.S. authorities agreed to lower the potential punishment a suspect faced in an American court.”

“Mexico itself has a mixed track record for returning fugitives. In the case of American citizens who flee to Mexico, it can take U.S. officials months or even years to get a fugitive returned if they have a good lawyer.”

I hope the Department of Justice does not let the American people down and three of its very fine citizens that need its help. Keep the Dog Free!!!!

Regardless if you believe that Duane “Dog” Chapman did a service for American justice or not, the fact of the matter is that
Chapman violated Mexican law that prohibits bounty hunting.

What Chapman and some of his family members did was more than just kidnap and unlawfully detain another person, but he also refused to turn the prisoner over to the Mexican police, and then when arrested in Mexico, jumped bail and fled to the US.

Chapman had the responsibility to abide by the laws of the country of Mexico while he was in country and bounty hunting is a crime there. Chapman's capture of Luster’s also violated Mexican sovereignty.

ADDED: You said: "crimals should be brought to justice no matter who catches them and no matter where they commit the crime!"

It still does not give Chapman the right to make his own laws. By doing what he did, he became a criminal (again) and two wrongs do not make a right.

If you note, he had a full film crew in his vigilante style raid to get Luster and this seriously raises the question as to Chapman's true motives. From the looks of it, he was doing it more for money and fame than true justice. It all comes down to Chapman grandstanding because he thought he could get away with it.

Chapman most likely would not have been in trouble if he had simply turned Luster over to Mexican authorities so he could be extradited.

First, I want to go on the record as saying I love Dog, and think he's a first-rate American, God-fearing, deeply caring man.

But I think you have a few facts wrong...

Yes, Andrew Luster was guilty of multiple counts of rape. But he was out of jail on bond and skipped his bail by running to Mexico.

Dog and his crew were arrested after they captured Luster, because bounty hunting is considered kidnapping, even when the subject is wanted by authorities.

The bounty hunters were due back in a Mexican court but didn't return to Mexico. The rest of the details are sketchy but according to Beth or Dog (can't remember which), this smacks of an under-the-table deal between the two governments. The US may have made a trade and allowed Mexico to have Dog in exchange for prisoners currently in Mexican jails.

So what we have here is that Mexico was willing to let a rapist and bail-jumper walk freely in their country, knowing that he was a fugitive from American justice (his trial was underway when he skipped), but they demanded the arrest and extradition of a man who makes his living catching the bad guys and putting them back in jail where they belong.

Now someone tell me again why we should allow illegal Mexican immigrants into this country, and why we should not shut down the borders?

Thanks, Bill Clinton, for NAFTA.

The crimes he commited were in the US and not in Mexico. What did you expect them to do?

I didnt say it was a good thing. I said he did not commit any crimes in Mexico. They have laws down there too you know. People want Mexico to shape up and kill corruption. Well they followed their laws which he didn't break any of.

Now to reverse your hypothetical question about what would happen if criminals ran to other countries to hide. Now Imagine this, say you went to another country and ended up making some enemies. These enemies have friends in law enforcement and could easily drum up charges on you. Now you are considered a criminal so does the US have to arrest you and send you back becuase you broke the law (framed) in another country? Granted you did NOTHING but according to this other country you are a violent criminal so you MUST be arrested and deported. Do you see the can of worms you are opening up?

So you see why we can only enforce our own laws and not those of other countries. Our legal system is not foolproof but it's fair to us. I would not say that about many other countries where corruption runs rampant.

Btw did you think the US would extradite Dog to Mexico?. I mean he did break the law down there and should have faced justice, right? Isn't that what you are asking Mexico to do for us? You can't have it only work your way, whats good for the goose.............

okay since you are all about laws.or so many anti illegals have claim on here say then THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED TO DOG! Its not about going and catching a rapist whom btw mexico didn't even know was there because the U.S tends to not pass around lists of people they are looking for unless they really really wish to.The reason dog got in trouble was because he did what many claim illegals do,he skipped out on the law.Mexico gave him a trial date to show in court and defend himself but he thought he was too good to do that so he skipped out on it and got his tush caught.Did he think because it was mexico that issued the court date that he could just blow it off and not receive any type of punishment or that the mexican government wouldn't go after him because he was american? WRONG.he did the crime because as I recall even here in the U.S its against the law to be a bounty hunter.and now he must do the time.He could have easily dealt with this by just showing to his court date but oh well he chose not to all on his head. And of course now he tries to play the pity card to everyone, saying he was doing something good blah blah blah.Well he was doing something good but he isn't above the law.I would think all those that whine about mexico allowing criminals from the U.S to sneak over to mexico and live there and not enforce their laws would finally be happy to see that there are laws that are enforced, but guess not.Damned if ya do,damned if ya don't
