I have a 2002 Stratus and I've already had to get a new transmission (factory defect). Now I'm having problems with the air/heat output. Other than that it's a pretty good car: decent on gas, lots of room, etc. Hope this helps.

The Dodge Stratus has one of the worst resale values. That should tell you something.

many cars with a DOHC (dual overhead cam) can have fluid leakage because the seals tend to wear out, but other than that it really depends on if the driver took care of it. have a mechanic take a look before buying used, and if new, there's a lemon law that states that they have to honor their warranty.
